6.5 SHERMAN MAX

My 6.5 max is finally done!
Tikka t3x long action, trigger lightened to 1.5#, bolt fluted
Bartlein sendero carbon 8tw in 6.5 Sherman Max
XLR magnesium chassis with folding stock
MBnM ti 4 port beast brake
Area419 20moa rail, Hawkins rings, mk5hd 3.6-18x44
Rifles refined walnut grip.

Some of the groups shot while fire forming. All adg brass needs the necks turned unfortunately. So that needs done before I start load development.

Has anyone tried to make a nice short compact 20 inch barrel with the max? Is it reasonable to get 2900 fps with the 156 EOL out of a short barreled mountain rifle? That would really peak my interest! Thanks for the feedback. Looks like the 6.5 needs more heavy bullet designs above 150 grains for the Sherman Max.

People have reached 3000' with a 20" SS, so the max should do it easier.

i thought I posted this on this forum but must have been on the facebook page. I bought some prime saum ammo and used it to fireform 40 65 max cases and threw a load together for an antelope hunt aug 25th. very easy to load for
used 65 grains of n570 and was getting 3132. case capacity was closer to 70 grains so this thing should send the 156 north of 3250

N570 is so hard on throats tho, my only fear! I have all 100pcs prepped, formed, necks turned to 291 loaded od. I founds lands. Going to start with RL33, Retumbo & 8133 30k off with 156 Eols and see how it does at 400 on a few ladder tests, tomorrow hopefully. I also have N565, RL26 and H1000 but feel they'll be a bit quick in this case.

Rich you have any suggestions for starting points for:
8133
Retumbo
Rl33?

Thanks!

Retumbo 60 grains
