6 5 prc, 270win, 284win

Well.... I own a 6.5 PRC and I DID buy a 7m Mag.

Why the heck did I drop the Franklins on a 7 Mag when I own a PRC?

Cause 6.5 PRC ammo can't be found... and worse.... no brass. What ever company developed this load and can't deliver should be horse-whipped. Turds...

I can buy factory 7 Mag ammo all day long and as much brass as I want and bullets all day long.

So I dropped a grand on an economy bench gun and glass to shoot 180g ELD's....at 2k.

Anyone want to buy a PRC?

.......
I had the same reaction - then it came togetether slowly over two to four weeks - I purchased 50 pc boxes 6.5 PRC brass from Nosler on 2 separate dates - maybe just lucky on my part?

A little patience would have saved you at least a grand. 😅

Wow, that's almost as much as I used to pay for Gunwerks 7mm LRM brass. At $1.88 you better have an annealer. When I could freely buy Hornady 6.5 PRC brass I was using them twice and tossing them into a brass recycle. Of course, with the 2 years of shortage bullsh1t, I don't do that now. I only toss them away when the primer pockets go bad.

Those days are long past.

Until the supply exceeds the demand we're going to be paying stupid prices for brass and that isn't likely to happen for at least a year.

I'd use any one of them with confidence for deer. Find the loading your rifle likes, with a sound hunting bullet choice, practice routinely and sally forth to harvest the noble beast! Enjoy the hunt.

Im thiking like you, most of my rifle are heavy barrel so more looking to have one that will be more adapted for stalk type of hunting

Got through second page and had to re read the OP's parameters. All the side choices added got me off tract. Haha

I killed my first elk and several more with a 270 win. and deer and bear too. Own one now, but it's a donor for build.

I have a 7RM and love it. It's a Cheapo Rem 700.
But it's a tack driver with just about anything. Especially reloads.

My son and I have 7-08's except they are improved. They are plenty capable of hunting at 600 yds.

Out of all choices you have I'd pick the 270. They are usually very easy to find factory ammo for and are easy to load for component wise, like others have mentioned.

Your wright, the grendel woulb be à great round but whant to stay in the caliber I mention. If I go small way would be à 6mmdasher or br but that not in my mind for now

Sure it will but that isn't one of the calibers he listed

You're correct... but every time I talk to shooters, I am amazed how many have no idea that a 6.5 Grendel is an option in a bolt-action hunting rifle and are stunned by the awesome ballistics in a gun with 1/3 the recoil of a 30-06.

The longer you're on the internet or visiting public ranges and gun shops the more obvious it will be come that the world is full of clueless uninformed idiots who think they are authorities on everything gun and hunting related.
