.375 SWISS P : NEW LONG RANGE CALIBER

I had been working on something similar back in 2017-2019. Didn't think of the rebated rim though.

I even bought 33XC and 37XC reamers.

The XC is so long. COAL of 4.578 with one of the recommended loads.
The Swiss P as nearly the same case capacity as the XC but because of the fatter case its .325 shorter making the COAL 4.253. That is still long but easier to deal with than over 4.5"

Having identical rim dimensions, overall length and operating at the same pressures (CIP maximum average pressure of 4,200 bar (61,000 psi)) as the .338 Lapua Magnum, the new .375 SWISS P cartridge is compatible with .338 LM bolts and magazines (despite the slightly thicker case body). To convert most .338 LM rifles into .375 SWISS P, only a barrel change should be required making it a cost-effective conversion into a more capable rig with a minimum weight increase.
Currently, there is one load listed on the SWISS P website – a ball load with a 350 grain (22.7 g) lead-core tombac-jacketed FMJ bullet. In a 30″ barrel, this cartridge is capable of pushing the 350-grain bullets to a muzzle velocity of 2838 fps (865 m/s) which results in a muzzle energy of 6269 ft-lb (8500 joules). This bullet remains supersonic to up to 1,600 meters.

I wish that I knew the powder charge weight. If I did, I'd attempt to compute the recoil for different rifle weights. Though, I'd like the barrel to be somewhat shorter.

Sorry, it's just I'm a bit obsessed with felt recoil…..in a reasonably weighted "hunting" (carry) rifle! If it ain't all day "toteable" (my made-up word) …..I'm no longer interested! 😉 memtb

Pretty sure it's 114g of N570.

I used a Sierra .375 350g Matchking for the QL model but it comes out exact to the specs.

There are reamers available.

I have an action with the correct bolt fact, threaded .375 12twist barrel. Even a stock fitted to the action.

I am trying to decide of I want to use that action+barrel or one of my Weatherby that is for xxx-378/460 plus 10wist barrel.
