300 Win Mag ELD-X load testing?

My understanding is that R26 is as slow, if not slower burning then Retumbo. I have gotten excellent accuracy/ES and a complete burn with 2900FPS out of my 24" 300WM using Retumbo with the 200gr ELD-X.

RL26 is very close to H4831 in my 7saum.

Retumbo info I got from QL which did not show it to be good at all with the 200 and I ran it with a 26" bbl.

Update: my R700 LR 300WM does not like the 200gr Eldx and RL22. It still loves the 4350 and 178 amax. Going to try some 4350 in the 200gr, will be a bit slower but think I'll see good results, if not I got a box of 178 eldx too

Just curious what your intended target and ranges are? I understand the velocity is much higher with the sub 200gr bullets but you get a higher BC going with heavier bullets like 215berger or 212eldX which is much better in the wind at long ranges. No negative intent here. Just curious if I am missing something

I'm looking to go out to 1000yards. Which is why I choose the 200gr. I was looking at the heavier rounds but I want to see how the 200 work out to 1000, I just have to close the group in from 1.5" moa, the 178 are shootin about .2"-.3"

What's the avg fps you guys go for in 200? I was thinking maybe like 2700

I'm shooting 2960+ fps with my 200 gr ELD-X's

Trued Rem 700 300 Win Mag 26" Bartein #3 5R barrel 79 G H1000 with Win Brass and a fed 215 primer. Load is 3.50" C.O.A.L

Thats the kind of velocity I would expect from a 200gr bullet out of a 300wm as well.

I am working on achieving that same velocity with 212eldX with a 28" barrel. I know it is possible because others like "Broz" have achieved 3020fps using Berger 215gr w\o over pressuring

My load is

300 Win Mag
200gr ELDX
72.0 of RL 22
Hornady Brass and CCI 250 primers
3.335" COAL

My new hunting load this fall in Alaska.

What types of groups are you getting ? This is what I'm averaging with 5 rounds with the 178
Amaxs

Just got my magnetospeed chrono and this load is shooting at 3098 fps. Does anyone think I am pushing it too hard? 27.5" benchmark barrel.

That should be determined by the pressure on brass in your rifle. Are the primers flat or pushing back into the firing pin? Are you getting ejector marks on the end of the case?

Of course you could back it off a little a preserve case life but I would see where my best accuracy node is too.
