300 rum vs 300 prc which is better

My Fierce is only 3.70 that I can load to and eject a loaded round. Barely better than the old Mod 700 that I owned in the original chambering in 1998. I'm sure there are MANY semi custom Rums set up for 3.85+ OAL
Very true, mine is set-up on a Rem 700, recently got my Wyatt's 3.850" mag box, haven't installed it yet.
Looking forward to seating the LRX where it needs to be and the 210g ABLR.

Cheers.

Wyatts has a 4.0" box too, center feed.

I've heard that 300nmi gets close to if not the same speeds as 300 rum without the need for the extra long mag box--- but 300nmi seems to cost more than rum

I've already posted my preference but thought I'd add this fuel to the fire. What's not to like about a 300 RUM?

If you are running Hawkins Hunter bottom metal and mags 300PRC and RUM are the same mag.

..neither ! No reason to stray from the trusty old fashion ho-hum .300 win mag..it'll do anything either of those will do with "far far less anxiety and expense"...time tested and hunter approved.
How's that? Nobody I know that has a RUM or a PRC has anxiety. They pretty much just have smiles when they pull the trigger.

What maybe two, three… hundred… 🤷🏻‍♂️
Keeping impact velocity at 1800 fps 100-125 yards tops.

The ideal spot in the RUM case is the 338, I'll do them all day long and twice on Sunday but you step just a little bit back from the 300 and 7s capacity you loose nothing but gain barrel life, throat stability, shootability, mag cycling if desired, just about eveything favors a PRC or Nosler, I'll build a 300 Norma way before the RUM in that capacity range!

My comment was tongue in cheek. I'm well aware of the ballistic differences.

If handloading…….RUM
If buying box ammo……..PRC

I own seeeeeeveral rums, and a couple PRCs. The PRCs never get shot.

Oops, I forgot, I'm down to 1 PRC now, sold one and got another RUM a couple weeks ago.
