300 PRC SHERMAN IMPROVED

The reamers we're being cut yesterday and will be available next week. If you are interested in owning one, you better jump on it. They can be ordered at shermanwildcatcartridges.com
My rifle should get chambered next week and will be cranking out some data asap as I want to have info at the shot show. I think it's fair to say the 225 will make 3000' and the 215 3100'. Thats with a 26" barrel.

Reamers are here boys and girls. Get em while they're available.

Hi,
I am interested in spinning up a barrel. Is it set up with a freebore that will cater for 215-230 bergers and how much neck clearance will there be on unturned brass?
What is the timeline on the dies?

Yes on the Bergers. I put plenty of free bore in it so it will keep up with a Norma neck clearance is .003" so there is a turning option if wanted. The dies are out about 5-6 weeks.

You would do well to get a 2.8" magazine!

The 30-28 Nosler wildcat holds 99.5 grs of H2O and case creation only requires necking up 28 Nosler brass. Velocities appear to mirror that of the 300 PRC SI with the bullets mentioned in this thread. I'm going to have my second one built but I'm ordering a reamer with a freebore that matches the 300 PRC. The freebore on my previous 30-28 Nosler was too short (0.1697) which wasted some of the value of the large case. The COAL of this rifle with 200 gr Hornady ELD-Xs will be 3.606" and with 212 ELD-X's 3.658". This will then allow it to fit in a standard Remington 700 Long action.

My 28 Nosler brass holds 101 grains of H20. Necked up it will be slightly more. The straight 30 Nosler holds 99.

Thanks for the info. Perhaps I had an air bubble. Should have run several tests. I did one with Nosler brass and one with Remington 7mm RUM brass resized to 30-28 Nosler. When we had the brass shortage a few years ago, and due to the cost of Nosler brass, I ordered a set of resizing dies (4) from Hornady that converts RUM Brass to 28 Nosler. For 30-28 Nosler brass I skip the last resizing die, take my 30-28 Nosler sizing die, take out the expander stem and run it through it. Whats left is to trim down the extra brass to length, turn the necks and run it once more through the 30-28 Nosler die with the expander stem installed.
