300 blackout deer hunting

I do a high shoulder or mid shoulder hit with the 220s. Barrel twist?? I have an original .300 Whisper Contender barrel from 1980s. Never asked the twist. My barrel shoots 220 RN, 240,220, 250 HPBTs to the same POA. The 186 Lehighs shoot 1 mildot higher than the other bullets (flatter trajectory, lighter bullet). Mildot scope is a must. On my scope each dot is 25 yards different in trajectory on 8X. Makes it easy. Range the game, put the right dot on it. DEAD. That's how I did the 240 yd. deer. Changing the power of the scope will make your dots wrong. Once you figure out the 25 yd. difference for each dot you have to stay on the same dot. My friend's Blackout uses 10X to get each dot 25 yds. apart.
Load data?? Newer subsonic barrels take a slightly different load than older barrels & brand of barrels take different loads to be subsonic.
What JD told me was to start with 12.0 gr. WW296, load several rounds with 1/2 gr. less powder & shoot them in YOUR suppressed gun. When the load gets "quiet", that's your load. The load for my personal suppressed Whisper is lower than a friend's suppressed Blackout by 1/2 gr.

I've gotten decent groups with 190gr Sub-X in a suppressed Remington 783 in .308. I did a subsonic velocity test last weekend but I haven't put the velocities in my spreadsheet yet. Two charges were promising and gave me decent 5 shot groups at 100 yards. Less than 1". If someone would take a few minutes and change the velocity for subsonic to 2,000 fps I'd sure appreciate it...

Sub-X's need 900fps and higher to expand properly (according to Hornady) and that limits the use of them. I haven't tried them on pigs yet.

Bought a box of Cavity Back Bullets for a Howa Mini in 300 blk.
Supposed to expand down to 600 fps.

This was the 190 grain Lehigh Controlled Fracturing at 1000fps. I did not recover the other petal, it passed clear through the bucks neck. The base ricocheted off the spine (broke vertebrae) and then went down the throat and lodged in the heart. The other two petals went through the spine and were in the offside hide.

I used a Lehigh Controlled Fracturing .375 cal. ,250 gr. in my .375/.284 XP-100 on a 220# WV bear at 220 yds. Base went thru both shoulders. The pedals were in the lung, liver, back strap, stomach. He never moved. Shot him from the hay bales to where he lays. Got 7 bears last 12 years on the farm in "youth bear season". If you're older than the hills like me you can hunt with the kiddies. Love it!!
Lehigh had me test their first Whisper bullet. Looked just like the REX. It penetrated very poorly. All deer ran a ways with it.
