25 cal barrel just arrived. What would you build?

I made a 25 Max dummy with a 135 seated at 2.970", left.
6.5 max with 144@ 3.080"
7PRC with 180 HT@ 3.345"

It all depends on what you are going to use it for. If its going to be a hunting rifle then id pick a cartridge that is going to give me speed in excess of 3000fps. 1:9 to 1:8 gain twist is a monolithic bullet user's dream. 80gr ttsx or 90gr hammer at 4000fps would be a rocketlazerdeathkiller! 115vld's would also be a flat shooter at high speed.

I'm doing a 25max in a 26" 7.5tw on a tikka action.
If the 25max doesn't get me to a useable 3200fps with the 133-135gr bullets I'll be disappointed.

When the 7PRC came out I immediately thought that it needed to be necked down to 257cal. Give Clayton a call at WTO or run by there because 25x7prc looks like a good one!

I'm not into the dasher-creedmoor size cases but my choices would be...

25-06ai
25ss
25max
25x7prc

In no particular order.

True wasn't thinking, I get that but just curious if a reamer exits yet or your planning having one made in the future?

I'd swap that barrel/cartridge combo ....but that's me. You are gonna be happy either way
Serious question, what is your rational? I plan to shoot lighter bullets in the 25SS. And probably Hammers in the 25 Mega or if heavier 25cals come out in the future

25ss with the 7.5tw for light monos and or 135gr pills. Lighter bullets should still have some zip. Will fit in a short action with 135's

25mega with the gain twist should probably still stabilize 135's at "mega" speeds. Plus you could really have a speed demon if you ran lighter monos. Would definitely need a medium or longer action especially with a 135's

Anything heavier than 140gr in a 257cal is just stupid lol. I'd stick to the 130gr class bullets as the "heavies".
