.25 cal 131g .330G7 bullet from Blackjack Bullets for you to drool on ...

Hmmm... I predicted this several years ago, but people snarked at the idea that all it would take is someone to push the barrel manufacturers into actually building it, and then the rest of the industry would follow...

Then again, what do I know about guns or the industry...I'm just a "keyboard warrior" according to some.

Since you claim to have a good grasp of the industry, I assume you have first hand experience and empirical evidence that it is not working. It might not be the numbers that "we" all hope it to be, but it is there whether you accept it or not. Creativity and innovation is constantly changing but all organizations have the responsibility for their bottom-line for their sustainability and survivability. It is slow but bullet and barrel industries are responding, collaborative efforts can be time-consuming.

Thanks for condensing the obvious and entire situation at-hand. Pretty sure my feeble mind wouldn't be able to figure that one out.

There have always been barrel makers willing to make fast twist .257 barrel, you just have to call and ask. I found multiple companies willing to make me any twist 270 barrel I wanted at no extra charge; they'd do the same thing for a .257 blank. The difference here is that a middle man has just done all the leg work so we can just have a single source vendor for bullets, barrels and relevant reamers.

I believe Chinchaga has been making a 140gr lead core .257 bullet for a while in addition to Hammer Bullet's and Cutting Edge for the solid copper options. Matrix Ballistics and Wildcat bullets made them as well for a while but not any more. They're out there, you just have to search a little to find low demand items.

Are you concerned about that? They don't need your permission or cooperation to participate. All they have to do is mfg the products and you are out of the loop.

I would not be out of the loop. The Loop would be getting a lot bigger. I figured we would have 1-2 years to enjoy the fruits of our labor and investment before the big boys came with their deep pockets.

Their entry into a market they've long neglected will only help total sales and in the end provide shooters and hunters with some really badass hunting options.

It is what it is. There is a segment of the market that will chase lowest price, a segment that will respond to marketing and even a segment that will respect what we've done.

Overall, if you've done the math on 0.257 and seen what load development is like in cartridges that handle a good 257 in a short action, you will undoubtedly find that the 131 ACE bullet is pretty **** hard to beat. It's very well balanced in terms of performance, achievable muzzle velocity without the price of additional powder needed and additional recoil. During the R&D stage we knew the design was good but after testing, confirmation, and much time thinking about the whole thing it's clear to me that we are in a great place. When we drop the $$$ to bring the HTR to market it just keeps getting better.

There have been a few barrel makers that would go to 1:8.5 but not many who would go to 1:7. I know because I tried to order them from about everyone in the business.

It took some time, but now mfgs are calling me to ask what twist rates they need for this class of bullets - one of which I tried to make a 30 barrel order from earlier this year. They said they just didn't it was really going to happen but now that they've had a ton of requests for 25 cal blanks they are on board. As you know it's not just about changing settings and getting different twist-rate results. Many shops have to order or make their own tooling for these high twist rates.

The chinchanga is heavy but it is not quite that efficient. It's more akin to the 230-240 SMK class, which fly very accurately but aren't in the same class of efficiency as say the 230 Hybrid or this 131 profile.

I'm glad you responded as such, thanks for sharing.

You can get anything you want for the right price, it just might not be worth it!;) All of the ones I talked to are on your list of suppliers. They were the ones most open to thinking outside the box.

If you're not familiar with K&P barrels, they're worth a look. It's not a high volume outfit that would work for what you're doing though. He'll make anything you want including custom twists and bore dimensions.

I yield and give due credit to those that coined "keyboard warrior", you guys rock!
Well, just so you know, just because someone shoots professionally vs. someone who doesn't, does not make them any better of a person than the next, and does not necessarily make their advice any more valuable than the next man's... I don't look up to celebrities, musicians, or famous people, but everyone has their heroes...And I'm not knocking someone else's. My advice isn't always going be the best to everyone, but at least I am trying to help folks instead of just going around and making snide underhanded remarks to people I don't like. I don't follow you around harassing you, so I expect the same mutual respect.

Most of my "sarcastic comments" are made in jest, and not to be taken seriously...I figured that was obvious to most by now...Guess not. And while I've never claimed to be a pro, I've also never intentionally tried to discredit anyone else's methods or opinions... I try to correct false information and hear-say, but that's about it. I do what works for me, and they're free to do theirs. If someone asks my opinion, I'll freely give it. They're free to do with it what they like.

Like it or not, this is a forum, forums are places for different ideas and suggestions and help. All I try to do is help folks. Don't like it, don't read my posts...Pretty simple. But there's no need to be a KEYBOARD WARRIOR and harass folks that have different ideals than you.

I'm done with this bullcrap, but I'm not leaving. So you and your buddies can just get over it.
