Easy fix, run 80 ELDs. Getting into the 90s requires a 7 twist. Then RPMs get too fast and bullets will blow up. It's a fine line. The big case .224s cause the problem. If your in higher elevation (4000+) an 8 twist may work fine. Even going to a AI or CM, velocity will be better but the bullet weight won't be unless getting into a faster twist. I have some buddies that had 7 twist barrels with a 22-250 AI and bullets were exploding consistently. 80,88 and 90s were all having problems. The 8 twist is about the best IMO and the more elevation (altitude) the better.I've been shooting the 22-250 for about 18 years now. Current barrel is an 8 twist shooting 75 grain eld-m's at 3K FPS. Have taken prairie dogs out to 1100 yds with it. Next barrel will be the .22 creed and higher bc bullets. From your posts here I believe it will only be a better varmint round. The wind at longer ranges is pretty hard on theses 75 grainers.
Mine does too but some 8 twist barrels won't stabilize them near sea levelWe shot 90s out of the 8 twist Sunday they grouped perfect we are at a 1000 ft where we were shooting
85.5 Bergers 3300fps 90 Berger 3275fpsNo mine is a 7 twist doug
