Why I don't hunt with Bergers. No offense and congrats on filling your tag. I see the lack or unpredictable performance of bergers way too often.2022 Buck. Not big at all but lots of fight to live. Shot at 180 yards off cross sticks following along scrape line to three to convince him it was over. Second photo of two shots hitting shoulder. First was back of shoulder did not deter him much. I waited a bit and he turned headed for a creek put to and three into him. Considerable damage caused. 7mm Rem Mag 168gr. 2960fps Berger VLD Hunters. Recovered both bullets under hide after passing through both shoulders.
That is literally a pile of elkthe best part... I do all the field dressing and didn't have one cut on my hands..
the second best part.. Kountry meats in Elk Grove makes very good teriyaki sitcks
Just ate my Arizona elk tag after burning 13 points. On way home now. That chit happens sometimes. 2018 burned 16 points on Arizona deer . Tag soup. Filled my Wy. general deer and cow elk tag. Still hae a whitetail buck and doe tag. At least I don't have to buy a third freezer.Great photos. Enjoyed looking through everyone's success. Ate my Montana elk and deer tags this year. Disappointing, but it happens now and again. Now on to stacking up some WT does for meat.
