My MT 9-1/4" billy goat with my son, my cow elk and my son's 6 pt archery bull elk on my goat hunt! Used 28 Nosler with 143 HH. My son had to do some serious climbing to get to my goat and then kick him off the ledge, This was the first level spot where he stopped. Goat was 91 yards looking down on him at 90 yds in his bed and he never got up. We had a friend pack us in 7.5 miles. Then we had a spike camp 2 miles, and then another 2 miles before we finally got into the goats. Toughest hunt I've ever done...but at 69 I got it done!! The cow elk shot at 200 yds and she only went about 20 yds.
My son's bull he shot at 20 yds and he went about 80 yds. Freezer is full for both of us!!

This young lady from church was lucky enough to draw a kentucky cow elk tag, I taught her to shoot a rifle on Friday and she made a 250 yard shot with my 280AI the next morning, never saw a youngster so excited

Great thread. Enjoyed seeing all the great memories. Here is my contribution.

Colorado August archery ram, 23 years after my first one. Shot distance 38 yards.

October roundball CO buck, shot distance 20 yards.

Kansas archery buck, early Nov. shot distance 14 yards.


Very blessed on a great fall. Got to enjoy all 3 hunts with my son. My daughter actually was able to come assist on the ram pack out.

I do also. Some pics from a New Mexico hunt 2019 on a friend's property. Dog gets his own bunk bed. Sometimes mine . That year he got to knaw on 24 leg bones .

They're sleeping right now. English Lab will be 2 in two weeks. Chesapeake is 9.6 years . I deleted pics of them in snow today. It was -8. -13 now ,
