12 gauge salt loads for bears

One bear.Game and fish came on sight but bear was gone so not sure what to do from here.
Brother in law got a bear tag as his dog can't go outside to relieve itself out of fear of the big black bear.
Edit to add:Game and fish said to not shoot it with anything if you don't have a tag,not even with rock salt as it is their bear.
That is off the table.

I guess today is the last opportunity to fill the tag.

Yea,brother in law said he was going to get up early and will walk the hill side the bear was last seen.He said it was a big bear but could not see if it was a boar or sow.He has a nice size bear skin but this bear was a good bit bigger so he would love to get it.
