I like what @Quintus is shooting in those 155's. I shoot the 168 classic h and 168 eld-m out of mine with good results. Lapua brass, Varget and BR2 primers. Mine is also a 20 inch barrel and I always wanted a hint more velocity so I switched to the 151 Hammer's. Since you're trying to use up what ya got, I'd lean towards the 168 classic hunters.

168 classics do great for me out of a 22"
Although I'm not a Berger fan...It has been my experience that .308 thrive on the 168 gr. Projectiles in any Flavor! I'd load and shoot either one but with a slight lean...ever so slight...the to hunters! Just me.
the 165-168's are the cats meow for 308win in any barrel length as it's very efficient!

I was shooting those 168 Bergers in one of my 30-06s and they knocked the snot out of the few deer that I shot using them, Bang Flop!

That's why it's important for a big test group. Deer can do crazy things. I've had that also where the shot was good. Can't find it. Check video. Shot was good. Something in some deer cause them to be able to run and sometimes not bleed.

Whitetails are pretty easy to kill. I developed a load with 185 jugs for target shooting and killed many critters with them in my 308. Very accurate and easy to tune
My 700 special police 5R 20" really shoots the 180gr OTMs. They are slippery and excellent for steel. I have not put them on game, though they are good enough for sharpshooter work, so... The 178gr ELDX are my go-to for game in the same gun. Slight POI change and run the same charge of 46.1gr Varget with very close and consistent MV.

Thanks for the info. Are you single feeding them to get 46.1 grains of varget in a case? I've loaded those in two 308s and at max mag length I hit pressure in both rifles If I'm any where above 45 grains

So from what I'm gathering most people run 168 classic hunters and 168 hybrid targets in their 308 win and they work great on whitetail?
Feeding is from blind magazine and formerly a box-fed magazine. It is a compressed load in a Lapua case. No pressure signs an occasional heavy bold lift. YMMV.
