338-06 load development

I'll start low as I seen yours is a 338 Sherman. Kinda funny, as the gun that's getting a re barrel to 338-06AI was my 6.5 Sherman.

If I had to start over, I would do a 338-06AI. The Sherman has been a rough ride. Took about 600 rounds down it to figure out that I was trying to push it to all other claims. Not worth the extra work to form brass. Not like the 338-06, just load and go. Besides, every Savage pre-fit company will do a 338-06/AI.

Glad its working out. I knew it would! You'll just have to buy a cow elk tag out here and test it out! That rifle I got from you is doing very well. Shoots everything I put through it.
Thanks! Yeah That sounds like a great idea. I am glad to hear that you're enjoying it and that it is performing well for you! A real beauty too 😍 congratulations again on your archery successes.

Question:

I'm going size and load some more of the Lapua 30-06 brass. Since my chamber is a standard 338-06 and not something more exotic, can I use a full load to fire form?

Ok I will work up. Thank you. The little data I found on that combo seemed a bit weak. I appreciate the help from everyone.

I didn't get to the farm or range to test yet but it's looking good for this weekend. I loaded up some more rounds at different seating depths and charge weights and several of one charge for sighters & foulers. Going to clean the barrel before the next round of testing at 300 yards.
