When you get some please report internal capacity once necked up.
My Nosler brass is 101 as a 28 and a little over 102 necked up going off memory.
Yeah H1000 is a great stable powder, but I've always pressured out with it before hitting velocities that Alliant powders give me. If you ever get the chance to try RL16 in the 300 PRC please let us know how it performs. Although RL16 is pretty much identical in burn rate to H4350, the individual kernels are a good bit lighter in weight which allows for better case fill than H4350. RL16 is also a very stable powder across a good temp range.
I suppose RL33 would be a little too slow for the PRC or Nosler, but works great for speed in the larger Norma Mag with heavy bullets. Might also be worth a try just to see.
I use H1000 because it is one of if not the best overall powder for this capacity magnum ever invented and it is easy to compare as most have experience. I hate most reliant powders as they are not temp stable. I am liking what I see with RL26 but if RL26 makes one cartridge better it will do the same to the other so the gap will not change. I do love N570 but the same applies to my last statement. I hate RL33 it was very unstable in different conditions when I tried it in my 30 and I will not go back.

True enough, but theres no real gain for improving the Nosler case, nor is there really any room to do so since it already has a 35 deg shoulder. When you improve the Norma case shoulder to 35deg or steeper you gain a good amount. Puts it up around 110gr H2O capacity while still having a slightly shorter case length than the 28 Nosler.
My 300 Norma Improved fire formed case (35 deg shoulder) next to a virgin 300 Norma case. My improved version also has only .018" body taper from .200" line to the shoulder junction.

I've had a 300 Norma Imp for years. I'm pretty up on what it can do. Mine holds just over 110grs with Norma brass and 108.6 with 423 Dakota brass. I also have 300wsm's, 300wm's, 30 Nosler, 300RUM, 30-8mm Rem mag's, 308 Baer, 30-338 Lapua Imp, and a 30-378 Weatherby Imp in 30 magnums. I will also have a 300 PRC in the next week or two when I get time to build it. I built my first wildcat in 1989, which was a 7-300wm.
If you wanna start comparing a wildcat 30-28 Nos to a CIP spec 300 Norma then let's make the Norma a wildcat as well by giving it the same 35 deg shoulder and look again. Now we are comparing wildcat to wildcat. Apples to apples.

Some people including me refuse to firefirm. The 30-28 doesn't require firefirming. The Norma Improved does. Either way I agree with Alex. You're not going to reach the next node with the 30-28 so it's not worth it to me.
