I recently finished the magnum craze with a new 300RUM.

Getting tired of torching expensive custom barrels so had a .308 win built. In the works is a new .223 Rem. They aren't very sexy but I expect to be shooting them for a loooooooooooooog time.

I'll probably build a 6mmBR next spring.

Something to be said for getting back to basics.

I went a similar route in terms of getting back to basics. I was hungry for all things speed for years, but as I've gotten a bit older 99% of my shooting and hunting is with a 223, 6.5 CM or 7mm SAW. My quarry ends up just as dead.

I have no problem buying bbls as long as they do their part.
I don't shoot them enough the bbl should last a few yrs.....

And I suppose this sort of cartridge justifies a longer than standard barrel too hey?

Not longer..........but I like using a quality barrel like Criterion, which is the one's I use
with the nitride treatment......... At 26 to 28"

I suppose the 6.5/284 would be closest to my choice but not really my first choice.
My first choice would be a 7mm/08
