If you look at what I said above, I predicted probably 100 years or more before we were carbon free so thats something we agree upon. We also seem to agree on the environmental issue regarding refineries but you have to have environmental regulations to make them as clean as possible and keep them that way. In this case I trust the government far more than I do the industry because I don't want them to cut costs to save money. The BP oil spill is a prime example of where cost cutting that caused an environmental catastrophe.Yes they sure were when the built them back in the 50's 60's and early 70's, the technology didnt exist then that we know have, I too dont want to see the environment destroyed and they can be built and regulated in a manner that will not have the big downsides that the previous generations left us with. They have spent lots of money cleaning up their mistakes and in many cases out right criminal activities that have brought on the negativity. It has actually put many of them out of business and rightfully so. But, whether you like it or not we live in a hydro carbon society and that isnt going to change in the next 10 or even 50 years, and we cant live without that industry without going back into the stone age.
If it all went away right now, today, 80% of the people in this nation wouldnt last 2 months.
Ouch, that hurts!7.19 here in California you know because liberal logic works
So you are in the industry but don't believe in it and think its a waste of money? Something smells fishy or more like fecal matter coming from a bovine.ok I haven't done research in china or the electric grid or know anything about it. Its only my profession for the last 17 years. Wind power is a joke. 1.1 million dollars to build a windmill. Itll never produce enough electricity to pay for itself. Lets start believing china now. Spoiler alert china lies about a lot.
Jim,So you are in the industry but don't believe in it and think its a waste of money? Something smells fishy or more like fecal matter coming from a bovine.
Ridgereaperok I haven't done research in china or the electric grid or know anything about it. Its only my profession for the last 17 years. Wind power is a joke. 1.1 million dollars to build a windmill. Itll never produce enough electricity to pay for itself. Lets start believing china now. Spoiler alert china lies about a lot.
I am not reveling in the gas prices or anyone going broke. I have never said that or eluded to it. You have come to that conclusion the same way that you have come to the conclusion that it is all Biden's fault. Its convenient and requires little thought.Jim,
I am going to let you do you and I will just do me. I will allow you to revel in the fact America is going broke at the pump and in the grocery stores. Due to the spending and fossil fuel policies of POTUS. I'm finished trying to reason with you based off of my learning in the Bible more specifically the book of Proverbs: 26:4. God bless and good day from West TN:
So you are involved in the production of windmills but think they are garbage?Yes. I dont believe china yes i know windmills are a scam great idea on paper but they do not work reason behind it is they have to have 30-55mph of wind to function at peak performance thats producing 1.5-2 megawatts thats 1200 homes a year if operations is at 100%. Which they do not. Also the blades are garbage after i think 20 years maybe 25. But anyway they just get buried in the dirt when they are done. Sounds great for the environment. People charge there cars feeling all green. Where does the power come from? Are grid is know where near rated for it. As of now most California is running at 150-200% capacity now add a 50amp breaker for your car.
You really are dense. Quit bringing up the PLANdemic as a reason for gas prices being high. The reason gas prices are high is because production is low. Why is production low.......???? Because this administration said on TV that they were gonna end fossil fuels. It's also low because this administration has put an "executive ourder" on every aspect of the oil and gas industry. All done by potus. Also after Russia and OPEC had their little wrestling match and crude prices were extremely low. Oil companies stopped producing because it was cheaper to buy elsewhere. You have some that were shut down during the pandemic along with oil wells. I think there is still one in Louisiana that is partially shut down because of a hurricane and there are some in Texas that got shut down by the winter storm that are either not running or not at full capacity. It's not the government's responsibility to get them open and they are not preventing them from opening unless of course we want them to but that would be socialism which is what Duckman seems to be suggesting. All other oil producers are government controlled and their gas prices are not nearly as bad as ours so why not. Oil companies don't want to invest in them especially now because they took a major financial hit during the pandemic and they are not wanting to invest because of the uncertainty of the future of fossil fuels which I think is silly because regardless of how hard we try, fossil fuels will be around another 100 years but with things like California announcing they went 100% renewable for even a day or two and other countries around the world reducing their usage due to climate change and even China has plans to be carbon free in the future, oil companies are reluctant to invest. People keep saying its all Biden but oil companies are not that stupid. They know he is temporary. Biden will be in office another 2 years. I seriously doubt he will seek re-election. He did not want to run this time. People keep thinking that as soon as he leaves office, gas will go back to what it was when Trump was in office. In order for that to happen, they should be investing now because it will take time before it takes effect and it will hurt the republicans if gas prices don't drop and if and when that happens, people are going to take renewables far more seriously. Oil companies are digging their own graves. If they don't keep the price cheap, people will wean off of it.
