Yes…..I’m a Hypocrite 😁

I only asked about the Scenars….because it's what I had!

After starting this thread…..I was offered some Accubonds (I think, I've slept since then) and some Partitions. Both at good prices…..decisions- decisions! 😁 memtb
Buy both. In my experience same load will work with either

Scenars > accubond and way better than the geriatric partitions (there, I said it…it needed to be said)

Truth is the accubond and Scenar I'd almost flip a coin. They are better tho because you already have them.

I have owned but sold a 6.5x284. It liked just about any 140-grain lead core bullet I loaded. But I have a 6.5x06 that basically served the same purpose that I have kept.
While any 140-grain lead core load works fine I have found that if I want full penetration on deer or elk, I use hammers. Of 3 deer and one elk I have used hammer hunters on I have always had complete pass through shots and never recovered a bullet. That being said they don't leave as big an exit hole as a 140-grain lead core bullet.

I am happy being stuck in the 20th century. Only have one cartridge developed in the 21st, the 300AAC I bought so my kids would have fun.
There are three cartridges/rifles I am interested in adding. 25.06, .264 and .280. They have to be in Win M70 classic Stainless Boss. I know, not for everyone. But it's what I like.
If you gave me a CM, PRC or RPM I would sure keep it, just not spending money to buy one

Fear not my brother -- that 300aac is 20th century goodness repackaged in the 21st. The CIP 300 whisper is 1990 vintage. They just SAAMI spec'd it in 2009 is all. So rejoice in the old school and let them kids appreciate newer isn't exactly new nor better.

I've shot the 155s out of a 308 and it does a number on varmints and hogs. (also a varmint in some states). I ended up buying some "seconds" ammo off Shooter Pro Shop mostly for the Lapua brass, but it was loaded with the 175 grain Scenar. Those did not work well on any animals. Pencil and no terminal damage. Great target bullet only. So, shoot those 139's into a water jug or wet newspaper and see what those do?

As most are aware …. I enjoy tormenting anything and anyone pertaining to the 6.5 CM.

But, it's time for "True Confessions", I own a 6.5 though "not"a CM.

About 15 years ago we bought a "salvage" 🤣 (Savage) in 6.5-284 Norma in SS with "fluted" barrel. Great shooting little rifle ……but, far too heavy to hunt with! So, we've only shot it using 139 Scenars.

Question: Has anyone used 139 Scenars on game…..especially on hogs!

If so your opinions……positive or negative……I want to hear them all!

Thanks in advance, memtb
Yes sir. Have used the 139 Scenar in my 6.5 x 284 as well as a 6.5 CM with excellent results accuracy-wise and terminally on game. Go for it. Very easy to get accurate.

Muzzle energy?

I've guided for 35 years. I have seen about every possible Sheet Show you can imagine. The CM is way more capable then haters want to believe and muzzle energy is for CQB. Maybe a tactical shotgun conversation with muzzle energy upon entry is worth the discussion. A 143 at 500 will run 2000+ fps at 500 with 1300+ lbs of energy. That is more than ample of both for proper bullet performance. I would love to see a softball thrown at 1350 plus mph. Imagine the person who would have to catch that sucker.
I agree with you
