X-caliber carbon fiber barrel

@highdrum NOT a fan of RL26, toooo volatile for my liking!

Still looking for the perfect powder for 25CM? H4350 works, but it's not quite there to what is really good?!
I'v tested: SW4350, SW Long Rifle, StaBall, Hybrid 100 V.
What I'm going to test is, H4831sc, because it works so well in my 6mmCM w/110SMK, Ramshot Magnum and maybe the LRT that I have?
Ramshot mag and lrt will be too slow I fear. H4350/RL16 are prime candidates if rl26 isn't your thing. I think a guy MAY be able to get enough RL23 in there to do business with, I am going to test. It's very stable similar to H4831sc but gives more speed, at an expense of a bit more fouling.

@highdrum I have also tried RL16, excellent powder, but I don't have much. All the other powders I mentioned, including RL26 & RL17, I have multiple pounds of.

H4831sc in my 6CM XCal 26" bull, no fouling issue, the lapped bores are that good.

Viht N555 is a new powder with little data, I have 8# perhaps I'll give it a go?

Well guys it's been a little while since I have updated this post. This weekend I shot the nrl hunter series match in New Mexico. It was a crazy hard competition and finding targets was a struggle for everyone. I ended up with an 8th place overall finish with a 4th place heavy hunter division win. The xcal barrel absolutely hammered all weekend. I saw no deviance even when the barrel was getting hot. I'm excited and thinking the top ten finish put me in to the finale in august at the cameo shooting complex here in Colorado. So far I wouldn't hesitate to run this barrel at these hunter matches. My cold bore shots are hitting the bullseye and my follow up shots are a 1/4" left which is where I like it. I'm pretty stoked about the performance of this thing!

Been a long time, again, I guess that's what happens when you swap your match barrel and forget about your hunting barrel. The x cal just keeps hammering I somehow lost the correct neck bushing for my 6.5 creedmoor and my load has an es of over 40 FPS but even then the xcal carbon hammered a 3" group at 420 yards. And honestly I'm 80 percent sure I didn't hold the same plac on the last shot (the lower one). If you're in the market don't hesitate between my stainless match barrel and the carbon or the other 4 barrels I've burnt out from xcal I haven't had a bad experience every one of them has out shot my capability

Forgot about this thread - great results!

I don't have an X cal carbon (yet) but wouldn't hesitate to snag one in the future. I've been working on burning out my X cal 22-250AI and it continues to impress. I'm currently shooting the 88 gr ELDM at 3150 (40.3 gr of RL-23) from my 22" barrel.

I took it out to hunt in Wyoming a few weeks back and this was the first time I had stretched it's legs past 200 (no long distance ranges near Cleveland that I can easily get to). Couldn't believe my eyes with this 3 shot group at 340:

Followed up with 4 at 560:

Overall, extremely impressed with X cal barrels and looking forward to adding more to the collection!
