Fluted Carbon Fiber Barrel

That is a great looking rig. What does it weigh in at?

Don't see many hunting rigs sporting a NF Beast. I moved my Beast to my GAP 10 as I don't carry it hunting much, though I did use it to take my buck last year.

It's a very nice rifle and quite an interesting barrel but... YUCK!!! It's LEFT HANDED !!!!

Get over it.....approx. 1 in 7 of people are born left handed.More of us wind up running major corporations and this country than right handers. But we still dont pick on you. Your comment is analogous to being critical for being born with green eyes.......so step off and seek counseling.

Would that hurt the CF around the barrel and make it weaker?

You would sure think so. They are obviously cutting the fibers. Would take some destructive testing to be sure. But I would think the original fibers integrity had been compromised.

The Nightforce Beast was the scope that happened to be on the rifle with the 300 PRC/ 6.5 PRC barrels.
After I finish working up a couple different loads for it then a 2.5-10x42mm NF with IHR reticle will be used for actual hunting applications.

I am not sure what the poster who said it would be hard to clean means?
Maybe the pictures don't give you a good perspective but it's just a thick Carbon Fiber barrel with very shallow flutes. I don't have another 20 inch barrel to compare weight against but I bet it took less than 2-3oz off the weight.

Maybe if I insert this link again that has the picture of the barrel before the flutes were painted it will give a better idea of what we have here.
