Very nice rifle! barrel contour and weight?

It's a bartlien 5R SS, 26 inches long, 1:10 twist, M40 contour with spiral flutes cut a little deep. I think the diameter at the base of the flutes brings it to a varmint contour.

@jmcmath and because I know you're a creedmoor guy I have this 5R in 6.5CM, but I wouldn't really call it a winter project since it shot right out of the box. Nothing to tinker with! Lol

That rifle was the best $850 I've ever spent. I highly recommend the Rem 5Rs.

Just completed a rebuild of my old trusty 5R. Took the old 308 tube off and replaced with new 6.5x47 Bartlein tube at 26 inches. Also, had the stock shortened to 13" LOP and repainted by HS Precision which they did a great job. Took it out today for barrel break in and it is showing phenomenal promise.

I now have 14 three shot groups through it and am averaging .496 for the total. Smallest has been .123. I am pleased so far.

Update: 35, 3 shot groups using 130 and 140 Bergers doing load development and at .423 as an average. Really liking this 6.5.
