I black bear hunt over bait and I am looking into getting a rifle that is a bit lighter then what I am presently hunting with. I know that I said, "Over bait", so weight should not be an issue, but....my old body is looking to ease getting to and from the ground blind as much as possible. Presently I am a 100%, unadulterated, die hard in the woods Ruger 77 tang safety user; and they're running around 7 1/2 to 8+- pounds. But...getting back and forth out of that blind has become a challenge due to a lot of hard, seventy-eight years on this body; rods, screws, cadaver parts and 40 pounds extra. Presently I have been taking a really hard look at the Wilson Combat, NULA model 21S rifles in .358 Winchester, coming in a little under or around 5 pounds. I did find one on Gun Smoker, they are around in this cartridge, but...they are not a cheap date, like $3000!! Because of the price, I am asking before I punch that ticket and end up owning one. I am curious if anyone has had any experience with these rifles (especially in .358 Winchester if possible) and what their ideas/opinions are with them? AS always I appreciate any information or input from everyone. Thanks
