That's cool! I don't hear of many story's of solders experiences in the South Pacific. Usually just over in Europe. My grandfather was in the 101st. Basically his discharge papers follow band of brothers to a THe was in the Coast Guard which was assigned to the Navy during the War. He was on a DE, did 2 years in the North Atlantic on convoy duty. Then went to the South Pacific, was on many patrols, hitting small islands (many uncharted) looking for Japanese radio transmission units! memtb
