Why shoot a sissy rifle?

If we're coming clean out of the closet. I've owned 5 T-Rex killers at one time. Recently sold 2 so down to 4. I am a man married to a woman for almost 20 years. Sure I do get my eyebrows trimmed and ear hairs plucked. If you see me at a public range I'll likely be behind a RUM of some sort. Whats seen at the private range stays at the private range. šŸ˜Ž

Only when comparing "same weight". Up the 270 to the 150 VLD's and 165 VLD's, and things begin to change.
Right, then everything else goes up too. The Creed is just a nice chambering for entry level hunters and anyone looking for comfortable horsepower. You'd have to do the 6.8 Western to run the heavy .277's with a factory build which is much less supported than the Creedā€¦

I don't totally agree with less supported in the 6.8 western I buy 6.8 western all the time in factory ammo and plenty of bullet choices and I've got 400 new unified brass still in the package. Last count 700 loaded western rounds all factory

The 6.8 W is a fine deal. Components, factory ammo options, rifle options, etc aren't in the Creed league. But that doesn't put the 6.8 W down. I have a custom 27 Nosler and a 270 WSM, so not against the .277. Just not in the same park.

Run a .270 Win on 700LA to maximize magazine COAL OF 3.67 with sufficient freebore for heavies with fast twist longer barrel and you will be surprised with results. Toss in RL26 pixie dust and its completely different cartridge.
170EOL @ 3100
156HH @ 3250
160HHT @ 3200
But you must have the good stuff!

Yep, you got the magic šŸ¤

I was fully aware of all the 6.5 ball busters out there, so I really had no interest in buying one. Being a lefty, I don't have the abundance of choices you righties do. So I'm at Cabela's in Myrtle Beach buying fishing tackle and found a Tikka T3X lite Veil in 6.5 LH, and it followed me home. Threw a Steiner on top and proceeded to kill one of the largest Low Country Bucks of my life. The rifle is light, sub MOA and the action is smooth as butter. For some reason it doesn't get much play in the rotation. The .308s, 30-06, 7mag, even the 6.8 spc gets way more seat time. I do ride a Harley so maybe my subconscious is telling me I'm riding a moped when I pick up the 6.5?? lol. To give that Tikka 6.5 it's credit, that big buck fell victim to a well placed 143 ELD-X and was DRT. I like interesting rifles and maybe one day, this one will get more play time.
