Who is in love with their 260rem?

I absolutely love my 260 Rem! My bbl is a 1:836 twist. I have quarter MOA loads for all my loads from 120-142 gr!
I compete and hunt with this rifle.
All my loads are with H4831 SC or H4350.
I measure all loads off the ogive. My bullets I use consist of Barnes 120 TSX, Berger 140 VLD, SMK 140, Hornady amax and ELDs 140 gr, and Nosler 142 LR AB! Get you one is awesome!

How much are you jumping the 140 Bergers?

.260 rem is one of my favorite cartridges. You wont be sorry to have one. The twist rate on your barrel is too slow. 1:8 twist is minimum for any heavy bullets. I just built one with a 7 twist barrel.

I'm looking into the 6.5 rem mag. Why hasn't this cartridge taken off? It alpears to do what the 264 winmag does in all of my books and also measures out to fit in a short action, magnum bolt face though

I can't say enough great things about the 260
I have several of them but I really love my 260 AI
I'm getting 3000fps with a Berger 140
Not to take anything from the straight 260
You can't go wrong

Dang it!!! Y'all finally convinced me---260ai it is.Been trying to decide between that,a 7/08 and a little 25. 260 splits the difference. Only problem is I have about 1000 bullets each of 25and 7mm! Oh well guess I 'll end up with that many 6.5s lol

I have a DPMS LR308 that I rebarelled with a Proof 260 barrel, 8 twist. Shoots amazing for a gas gun with 130 ELD M's - very happy with the 260. I'm planning on rebarelling a Rem 700 from 308 to 260 Ackley for long range coyotes and wolves.

I have been building 6.5-08s since a couple of years before Remington played it's rendition of Al Gore and claimed they invented the old, old 6.5-08 cat. I have built a dozen or so 6.5-08s for others and I have five now, and I am now waiting on a new 1-8 SS McGowen for my own new AR-10 Armalite 6.5-08 build, number 6 and the second of the AR-10s in 6.5-08, this to be a much lighter AR than the first built by Armalite, if I need to turn the barrel again.
I push 120 hollow cavity (how is that for PC) SMKs up to just over 3,200 fps and get .11 to .13 groups at 100, 1.5 inches at 550 yards. They remain super sonic to over 1200 yards. No load, no description of how I build the rifles, except I make them from modified 700s or Armalite AR-10s.

I put together a similar rifle with JP parts and it is a tack driver!
