I work in a trade "Boilermaker" is my trade. I'm really lucky actually are busy time is March-may/june, then slow middle of June-to right after Labor Day. Then it slows back down right around deer season. So from mid March to end of may we are working 6-7 days a week rolling in the or, summer is hit and miss with being busy and if it is busy they sometimes will let you take a long weekend if you have plans. I kind of plan hunting around what our work scope is going to be. There's times I left money on the table to live and have fun, there's been other times I had to go to work. There's give and take in all parts of life. Just got to find what works for you and your family.

It is ,and was ,always simple to me , you just have to put first things first when it comes to hunting and fishing . šŸ˜‰

I was a carpenter for years.Worked ton of hrs.Banked time when I was in early 20's for a 21 day bear hunt in AK.Then went into business GC,worked mt schedule around it to some extent .Know im just working smaller jobs with my son,I dont take work usually for sept and always got years taken last week or two off for rifle. When Ive drawn special tags, Ive done hunts until I scored, several where month long.Im not rich ,but ive had a rich life.My hunting buds are in similar situations.

My secret for getting off of work to hunt is being a very valued employee and working my butt off the rest of the year.

I don't "ask" for time off. I "inform" my work of when I will be off.

I technically get "unlimited PTO", but I do not take advantage of it (meaning abuse the privilege). I have even had my bosses tell me I need to take more time off.

Fingers crossed for the 2025 AZ draws.
