I have a switchable 22lr/22mag revolver and keep it loaded in 22mag. It hold 9 shots. First 3 are bird shot shells for snakes. The next 6 are heavy rounds for larger varmints...The only person I've met yet that LOVED the 22 mag was a guide that shot lions with a 22mag revolver
The man adored that cartridge
The 6PPC shoulder is moved forward for a little more volume and a slightly shorter neck. I have full length resized the 6ARC to 6PPC to prove the point. But I have not needed to make rounds that way. Biggest difference in MHO is that the 6ARC specs a twist of 7.5 for those long 100+ grain bullets they are loading commercially. I am not likely to re-barrel my 6PPC, but the 6 ARC does fill an interesting niche. It was designed to extend the effective range of the AR15 in combat with out any dimensional revisions to the platform. Swap some components and you are good to go. I plan to build an 6ARC upper for myself one of these days.Already have a 6PPC, what's the difference between it and a 6ARC?
Went hunting with a friend and he did the opposite. Medium sized whitetail came out of a coulee about 120 yards away and he decided that was the one he was going to take. So he let the deer walk for almost 2 hours until it got to 1040 yards (about to go into next section of land) when he FINALLY pulled the trigger. The whole time I was like shoot for #### sakes... I was getting stiff and sore trying to sit behind a small ground blind. He patiently lied there on the ground... watching and checking distances and dry firing in practice. FINALLY... 1 shot later with 7mm-08 right through the ribs and lungs.
He only had 2 guns a 7-08 and a 7 RM and every second year he was re-barreling them as he did a lot of practicing.

This is hilarious to me since literally 90% of threads in here get bombarded by creedmoor haters doing exactly this, not the shooters. An item that apparently you're familiar with…..not necessary here! Why is it when someone talks poorly about your choice of cartridges, in jest……many of you seem to immediately drift to sexual inadequacies! A "Freudian" issue perhaps!
Different strokes! I've sold half my safe to up my round count on my hunting rifles. I found it more foolish to have guns I don't need and not have the most practice possible on the ones whose use mattersFirst, and not to sound arrogant, but I don't require hundred/thousands of rounds/year to remain fairly proficient within my boundaries of 600 yards. Furthermore, unlike some here, money is indeed an object……it costs more to shoot the larger calibers/cartridge. And yes, they do kick pretty hard and would limit the number of "quality" shots fired! Pretty foolish to "waste" money and put unnecessary rounds through my hunting rifle……when there are plenty of other firearms available for use.
Time and again people talk about creedmoor shooters being women or hipsters or soy boys you name it. Talk of their hair styles or the clothes the wear etc. people want to dish it out and make fun of creed shooters but don't want the heat on the way back I guess.Lastly, I have many other things that require time and money! If I had large resources ($), I could hire a lot of the chores out, and spend more time & $ on shooting. Or…..would I spend more time and $ traveling with the wife……decisions, decisions! memtb
That was early on in my shooting life,I didn't hand load at the time one was an SKS so the results speak for themselves. The other was a Ruger mini 30 and I was kind of disappointed with that one so I've had enough. If you'd like to give it another try, I bought a howa mini in 7.62x39 last year. Gun has a sub moa guarantee and shoots sub moa with cheap tula ammo which is quite impressive to me.
