Whats the cartridge you LOVE to HATE?

The 30-06 is always right! Not too much and not to little, a perfect handful. Sometimes I hold my M-1 at night and caress it just to make sure I don't lose touch with what it means to be a real man in the modern world.

It's always wrong. More recoil for no gain....was probably ok in aught 6....it's only been a century.

Quiettexan, I love a 06 myself but I've only shot 3 M-1's in my life. 1 original from Korea (?) 1 that was refurbished and another that I don't know the history, it had the bluing or Browning worn. None of them were accurate at all. I'm not wild about the 30 Carbine round, just not enough bullet unless it's put in a pistol. Now that's where I like the 30 carbine. They are loud and belch fire but that makes it fun.

Well "no gain" is one way to say "the 308 Win was never as fast". Let me guess, your 308 Win is "just as fast as the 30-06" if you compare over-pressured handloads to .mil ammo left over from the Korean War?

I don't hate the 22 mag and have a switch cylinder 22 revolver but don't see a use for it.
As far as in rifle form if I can't kill something small with my 22LR I'll use my 223.
If they have a 22 CM I could hate that!

The only person I've met yet that LOVED the 22 mag was a guide that shot lions with a 22mag revolver

Yep, me too…..little to zero need/want for a 22 Mag. And, like yourself……do have a couple of Ruger Single-Sixes with th3 22 Mag cylinder!

I had a rifle in 22 Mag back in the early '70's……sold it, and never missed it. One of "only" 2 rifles that I've ever sold! The other a NIB Browning 300 WM that I won at an NRA Banquet. No need for it…..Already had several small bore/caliber cartridges! memtb

There's a couple best things, about the 22Magnum, Not very loud out of a 24" barrel. They hit at 100 yards like a 22LR at the muzzle, which will drop a market weight steer in his tracks. The 22 mag birdshot rounds, are great on any chipmunk , trying to setup his camp in ur garage,as they leave, very little collateral damages, when deployed.
