Nice guys, let's see that 16+lb hog someone's carrying around
Ha! I do have one I've carried a few times. It's a Remington 700 300 win mag. Sports a Kreiger 26" barrel, HS precision PST 026 stock, Nightforce ATACR optic and AEM530 can. My hunting rifle was butchered by a local gunsmith and being fixed by benchmark. Total weight was just over 16lbs and the 6 mile hump I did with it was painful. Worst part is it was all open country so my little Remington 760 30.06 back up was just not suited for the task and I didn't tag out.

Do you carry with bipod attached? And if so do you consider that part of the 10?

I'm looking at a 7.5 pound raw rifle with a 2lb scope and rings and it's already 9.5lbs without a can or bipod or ammo. Makes me surprised to see so many 9lb LR guns.

Fwiw I singled you out not for any negative reason, but because you have a pretty long history of posting lrh success and proficiency with lots of rifles.
I usually hunt with a bipod, but those weights do not include that added weight.

I've killed over 600 yards with a 8.5lb 28 nolser. The green rifle.

And also over 600 with a 9.4lb 300 Norma Mag Improved. The bronze rifle.

Weights are just rifle with optic. Not with bipod, sling or ammo.

This year I'll be hunting with an 11.4lb 300 Norma Mag Improved... and might regret it hahahaha.

Beautiful photos and rifles!

My current setup is a 7-08 probably 15 to 16 pounds . Gun is built on my grandfather's old interarms Mauser action . Has a burx # 5 barrel at 26 inches .McMillan a3-5 adjustable stock .nightforce atacr 5x25x56 in nightforce rings and a direct thread banish 30 can. The new gun should be in the 9 pound range scoped . A 280ai built on a kelby nanook action with a proof 26 inch carbon sendero light and I still haven't decided on stock so could be manners lrh or McMillan . For scope tangent or zco plus a can.

I love the AEM5 in my MK12 SPR, except for the weight. I think they have the best attachment system. What material did Allen Engineering make the AEM30 with? How much does it weigh?
