What do you consider good enough?

From what I've learned is that PRs is not abou t needing to shoot .3 moa groups. The steel targets are quite generous and is nothing like punching paper. I could be wrong but aren't the targets +2 to 4 moa in PRs competition? Please correct me if I'm misinformed.
As for your groups they look tight enough to do the job fine.. 6.5 creedmoor using longer projectiles will not stabilize fully until 300 +yards anyhow so if you test at further ranges you will get more accurate grouping.

Creedmoor shooter have you tried using H 4350 with that projectile?
I've had great results and had single digit spread of 7. Might work for you.

Not with that particular bullet. I've used it with the 140 and I got ok results. It shot well at 1000. My rifle just preferred rl-17. I got some rl-16 as a substitute for rl-17 because I was sick of changing loads due to temps

I hear some guys are running h4831 with the 147's. I would be tempted to try it. Probably a bit slower FPS tho.

We shot 150 or so of factory rounds on video at around 1100 yards. You could see they fell in two distinct subgroups that were 1/4-1/3 moa. The average of all groups was somewhat over .5 Moa. Weighing the cases afterward showed a 4 grain es with two distinct groups of brass less than +/- 1gr. I'm guessing from two different machines. If you have not already done so, weight sort the brass and the bullets
Mine likes both with IMR483SC but they are slow <2800.

Makes sense. What brass and primer are you using? I found shooting Lapua small rifle prime brass gave me more consistent velocity and spread? At 1500 it may just come down to finding that perfect node the way you doing it... your rifle will like what it likes. I'm sure you'll find it. When I run out of options I turn to my handloading process and prep. I guess that's why we enjoy this so much, it ain't easy....

Well like I've said I'm done messing with the 147s. If my rifle doesnt like it then theres noting I can do to change it. I should have known better than to buy 500 of them before trying them. Got drunk on the BC number lol. I'm just trying to decide on selling them and moving or testing them at distance. I'll probably end up selling them for what I paid for them.

I got so excited I forgot
Has anyone mentioned neck tension?
I have been planning to try graphite on the bottom of the bullet when I put it in the case to see if that will give me a more consistent neck tension

OK, I get it!

Good enough ~ will always be the shooter with the tightest group, and no penalties.

Enough Said.

If I were you I would try the same thing you have done using SMK bullets. I have found them to be very good and highly under-rated.

I think I'm done messing with the 147. I'll order 500 of the 140s and just use the 147s as practice. No sense in settling for less

I learned my lesson a couple of times and wasted a lot of brand new barrel life, not to mention the components. Feed the rifle what it likes! Insanity is when you do the same thing over and over and expect different results....keep that in mind. :)
