Wabbit Hunting is so much fun

We used to hunt them with beagles. Best thing was after the hunt we would clean them and fry them up out in the field, along with a big pot of tomato gravy that one of the old guys would make in the cast iron pot that the rabbits were fried in. Good times
Sounds like he made the real tomato gravy. Not the cooked tomatoes they call tomato gravy now days. It is not tomato gravy !!!!

Feral cats will kill more rabbits then all the natural predators combined. Watched it happen time and time again. Too bad feral cat does not taste like cotton tail. As far as I'm concerned feral cats should have a federal bounty on them. Only domesticated animal owners seem to think is perfectly fine letting run at large.
I could not agree more sir! They eat a large amount of quail. When they can find them !!!!

We have too many yotes and feral cats. Wabbit population cycles wildly depending it seems on how many yotes and ferals bite the dust. I've never seen so many cats. You would think the yotes would prefer them but the cats just keep hanging around. Never see either in daylight but cams get them.

I bet people are tossing them out for whatever reason. No concept of the wildlife damage they do. I haven't heard a pheasant crow in years. Turkey population down no doubt in my mind from cats to some extent.

When combining wheat and soybeans I have seen up to 6-8 rabbits per day caught by hawks. Sometimes the coyotes would just sit at the end of the row and catch whatever ran out. Deer, rabbits, and rats. I usually had the 223 on the machine with me and killed quite a few coyotes that lingered to long. As for feral cats, they are a very efficient predator. It's surprising how many I see now since I started looking around with thermal at night.
