Thoughts on when the heck components will be back?

I think you have stupid confused with low supply and high demand, and the means and desire to get what someone wants in spite of that.

Except if people stopped paying $100/lb for powder then the scalpers would be forced to lower their prices. Supply of "popular" powders (h1000, Retumbo, n570, rl26, etc) has been slim to none for many years and was never listed at $100+/lb until recently due to stupid people paying stupid prices.

buy it and list it for exactly what you bought it for.. lowering the bar for the scalpers and the guy who needs it can get a fair price for it

our average classified listing used to used to list about 450 total items .. now its upto 1650 and all overpriced everything what appears to be new stock good thing is it looks to be all stagnant and nobody buying .. i hope the scalpers end up with all the h50bmg and pyrodex they can stand ;)

i mean really . who bought all the percussion caps and muzzleloader bullets ..
This is the best advice I have heard for this whole situation.
But I honestly think we are our own worst enemy when it comes to this stuff, I can't tell you how many guys didn't learn their lesson when Obama was president and now are ****ed that they got caught with their pants down yet again. So they are out buying two box maximums everywhere they go at inflated prices. This won't be any different than before and these guys will end up selling their 20 boxes of 378 weatherby in a couple years so they can once again afford their mortgage.

I've been able to score some powder and bullets off Midway by getting notifications when they come in stock. I got all the reloading gear and cases prepped, just waiting on primers.

I don't know about you guys but I cant find anything for reloading. For a while I could find a few items at small town stores. But now nothing. The gun shows I found a few 50 rd packs of primers they wanted 45$ for a 50 pack. Anyone know of a source for 6.5 PRC cases? When do you think they will start catching up?
I have 200, once fired cases for the 6/5 PRC I probably won't be using. Long story short, had a new rifle that I've returned to the manufacturer twice. Chamber wasn't polished and wouldn't hold under a minute at 100yrds.
They've elected to allow me to choose a different model and caliber. So I'm probably going to go a with a reg 6/5 or 270.

It's not so easy to just 'buy more equipment'. That kind of capital investment has to be very carefully thought out because if you overshoot- you can sink a company real quick. Unfortunately they are dealing with a some serious wildcards (us shooters) that go into hoarding mode when there is a political wind change, a mass shooting or some other event planned or unplanned.

One of the CEO's did a good job explaining why they can't do exactly what you said.
^^^This!^^^ Capital investment is very costly, and the return on investment takes a long time.

I've been a home based FFL for 10 years, everything is out of stock or on allocation at the wholesalers. I may see 30 or 40 boxes of bullets come in but they will be gone in minutes. I haven't seen primers since last year. I found an assortment of powder last year but nothing since.

As for firearms, about all I see in stock are hunting shotguns over $1500, rifles over $1500 and some handguns $2000 and over. I have not seen any improvement and I'd expect it will actually get worse when Biden starts (or tries to) enacting gun control. We are in for a dry year fellas, get what you need when you find it.

I am trying to be optimistic! I am starting to see a few things show up! Fingers crossed that it will show up and price gouges will be remembered as I am totally discussed that the gun supply companies would stoop low enough to hurt their supporters!
