Thoughts on when the heck components will be back?

You're probably right, I myself passed on the powder only because I have some. Left it for someone who needs it. This is what it's going to take for things to get back to normal.

I just left my local sportsmans warehouse, they had h4350 and a few other powders. The guy behind the counter said they had primers when they opened and were gone instantly. Hopefully things will start getting better.

This past December I was in our local SW when the truck came in and I scored 1,000 LRP's at normal prices. Ya just gotta have good timing, some luck and patience.

My crystal ball says. March 2022. I see some signs of relief now. My democrat relatives are feeling the brunt of shortages now and are not happy and are asking this olde Republican guy for guidance. Hopefully, by end 1st quarter 2022, some positive legislative definitions will occur to dispel fears of a component black-out. Mid-term elections follow 7 months later and a Republican house and speaker, 3rd in succession, would ratchet up democrat fears. Every state has shooters, even the liberal states where my democrat relatives live.

Same for me this last Saturday of all days was in my local Cabelas and Cabelas card holders and only Cabelas card holders were allowed to buy 8 boxes of any in stock HG RIFLE OR Rimfire ammo that included 8 of any caliber or a mix of calibers 8 boxes total I got lucky was third in line and bought 8 100 round boxes of 9mm and treated my boys to a 9mm carbine range day the next day
Also got to put my unused 17, 27 and 33 round pmag Gluck 17 mags to extensive use.
My boys and I absolutely love our Ruger PC 9mm carbines
Also picked up several 1# jugs of my favorite rifle and HG powders
BTW didn't shoot the ammo I bought used that to offset the reloads shot.
Put 800 through the carbines and 200 through my HGs
Left the 22lr rifles and HG's at home
NEVER EVER in my wildest dreams did I ever EVER think it would be cheaper to shoot my reloaded 9mm ammo than 22lr, but it is.

So for those that will ship primers should read this article on the Valujet crash in 1996. The FBI is looking for the mechanic that was charged for improper shipping of oxygen generators. So how do you think they would react for an emergency caused from improper shipment of primers?

I understand the ammo shortage being brought on by a supposedly 8+ million new gun owners. What I don't understand is the reloading supplies being all gone. I know some people would play into the fear and stock up, but most of us have seen this ammo thing a few times. We are our own worst enemy in my opinion. I fortunately have enough loaded up that I'm not really hurting. I do have one gun I don't have a lot for but that's ok for now.
I think if people would back off just a bit, all things would start to settle down and maybe return to normal by the end of the year, if not Q1 of next year.

I think you have stupid confused with low supply and high demand, and the means and desire to get what someone wants in spite of that.

With Bass Pro buying Sportsman's, I don't see them getting anything anytime soon.

Local here in NC, Sportsmans' doesn't have much, but way more than Bass Pro or Cabela's

I think we are on the downward slope of the panic. I've been shopping for about three months and powder is starting to get better. I know I'm not as anxious as I was January 6th. Hopefully we'll all be shaking our heads wondering why we paid $40 shipping for 2 lbs of h380 or a 4#er of tite group in a matter of months. I bet primers will take a bit longer.

buy it and list it for exactly what you bought it for.. lowering the bar for the scalpers and the guy who needs it can get a fair price for it

our average classified listing used to used to list about 450 total items .. now its upto 1650 and all overpriced everything what appears to be new stock good thing is it looks to be all stagnant and nobody buying .. i hope the scalpers end up with all the h50bmg and pyrodex they can stand
