i have 300 wm encore with sig suppressor the lightest suppressed set up for hunting I could come up with with a heavy fluted barrel recoil is very manageable also a good shooter
I am not sure about the pressure issue. The recoil can be easily managed with a good muzzle brake from JP or UM tactical.I am considering a 300 RUM for my TC Encore I am concerned about recoil with that big magnum and such a light gun, has anyone ever used this combination?
Not just today but everyday we honor you and all in service and who have been. Thank you for your service. Great news on your Encore pistols.I personally hunt exclusively with an encore pistol. I lost my left arm and vision in my right eye by an IED explosion while serving in Iraq. since I couldn't shoot a rifle anymore I picked up an Encore and haven't looked back. I have a 15" barrel in .325 WSM that I have Taken Elk with and even a very large American Bison with. The recoil is literally for me a handful, but not overwhelming. there is a lot of movement when it recoils, but you get used to that fairly quickly. I have become very accurate with this combo out to 400 yards. I also have an 18" barrel in 6.5-284 norma that I'm looking forward to shooting.
I spoke with my good friend Justin Sip of Sip custom guns this afternoon. He is/was the former owner of Virgin Valley Custom Guns, his brother Wade is the owner of Match Grade Machine. Anyway he is the gunsmith who built my custom encore pistol with the 325 wsm chambering. He concurs with all the wisdom on this post. In his opinion all of the ultra mag cases offer way to much thrust to the frame to be safe. In fact he reminded me of an individual years ago who had a 300 RUM chambered encore rifle that blew up on him with the extremely hot reloads he was shooting. Seems like there are a lot of other 30 cal chamberings that would work well in the Encore. I asked him how safe the 325 wsm chambering s and He said It would remain safe if I didnt get crazy with super hot reloads.
I have 3 words for you: Don't do it.I am considering a 300 RUM for my TC Encore I am concerned about recoil with that big magnum and such a light gun, has anyone ever used this combination?

Thank you for your service and it sounds like you have mastered your hunting pistol.I personally hunt exclusively with an encore pistol. I'd contacted bull berry about doing a 257 weatherby and they said absolutely not the frame is not designed for that pressure . Kinda broke my heart just a little.
I would not do that. You probably cannot find anyone who would do that.Would a 300 Norma Magnum be possible in a TC Encore platform? I know that it would be pushing (actually stretching) the limits of this action. However from articles I've read it can almost match the 338 Lapua.
