I have a Browning auto in 308 I would like to shoot suppressed. Could it be a problem with the gas system?

it could. call browning and see what they say but you could end up with feeding issues or broken parts after a little while.

I have tried that with a Remington 742 with no luck. The Remington is over gassed to start so adding a can made the action work so fast that the second round did not have time to raise from the magazine in time to feed.
