Either work fine for deer sized animals. Don't hunt elk. Expect full penetration and little meat damage with either
Double lung on anything I shoot. You guys shooting antelope, deer and elk with hammers: are you punching shoulders or going for double lung vitals?
That's what .308s are for!!!!!I wouldn't make a habit of it, not good for barrel longevity.

I would take whatever shot presented. You guys shooting antelope, deer and elk with hammers: are you punching shoulders or going for double lung vitals?

+1You'll never wanna shoot anything else,
None, they are twinsYou guys using the Absolutes, what differences are you seeing between them and the Hammer Hunters on game?
Honesty the only difference is that the nose on the absolute hammer is turned down to a slightly smaller diameter so that it doesn't contact the barrel ahead of the first band so terminal performance should be identical. You guys using the Absolutes, what differences are you seeing between them and the Hammer Hunters on game?
Bghunter,Ok for the guys that was curious, here is the test ladder that I did with the 121's out of the Blackbird and 26" 1-7.5"
Gotcha, the rifle is a Remington 700 Long action with a 26" Muller works carbon barrel. It has a 7.5" twist. So far 64.5grs of IMR 7828 at 3450fps with the 121gr HH. The caliber is a 257 Blackbird. The rifle only has 11 shots down the pipe so far so I'm assuming it's still going to speed up a little bit. I did hit 3582 but that was a little to hot. I'm going to load up some for group tests this week and see what she likes the best.Bghunter,
Please post all particulars of your rifle/barrel/load so I can post them.
Thanks!!!!
