I think the 168 LRX is a solid, isn't it ? It takes a Magnum length action.
It's a copper alloy mono, yes. Can be used in any action length, but uses up lots of case capacity. If you want to run them is a short action cartridge, putting it in a long action and seating them out (long throat) would free up that case capacity.
 
I second the use of RL26 in 7RM.

X bolt all weather. 26" pipe. 160 accubond. Stupid consistent and accurate. My ES' we're instantly cut in half upon switching to RL26 from H1000 and retumbo.
 
I too have been very impressed with RL 26 in the calibers I have tried it in, not 7RM but 28 Nosler. Easily getting single digit ED and SD. If you don't might shooting a little lighter bullet the Hammer Hunters are incredible. I'm not a super great shooter and get less than .5 moa at 200 yard groups. This is the furthest I have shot them so far. If you want something I little heavier I would try the Berger bullets.
