Short Barrel Mountain Rifle

I remember the gun writer John Wooters was a 308 win fan. He said that a 30/06 held 10% more powder but was not 10% better. I love my 308's and are my go to guns.

I'm turning a Remington 30/06 Long Range into a Bush Hog rifle.

Wildcat Composites Stock and shorten the heavy barrel.

20 1/2" from back of chambered case to MZ tip.

Ruffly 8 ish lbs.

Not to long or short in barrel length.
Whole rifle Not to heavy or light.
Not to thick or thin in stock width.
Wildcat Composites Stocks are super strong and fit the PRS category.

I need a rifle that is fast acting in the bush,,, and to be able to pull off distance to 600+++ meters. Iron Silhouette / Short distance PRS change with in that range.
More running tactical stuff in close quarters with in this range.

Max Harvesting is set at 300 to 400 + give or take meters.

Awesome thread my friend, hope you find what your after going forward.
