After that I cleaned the barrel
This is the first three out of a clean cold bore at 100
58.2 H1000
147 eldm at 2.945

I actually thought the PRC would drive a 147 faster. I thought the new 155 Berger would be around 3000 fps. The Havak has a 24" barrel right? Did you try any R26?

For those with the Havak, I've noticed there is a front sling stud as well as a flush cup. Is there enough space to run an atlas rail?

mange, been quite few funning around like that this year.

I got up to 3110 fps with RL 26 with decent accuracy.

in my experience with these type bullets (tipped) slower is better for hunting. Most of my shots are between 300 and 600 yards so I prefer a little less speed. If I was shooting steel I would opt for the faster speed but I like the performance on game.

I am up to 100 rounds now and it looks like 57.5 H1000 has the best accuracy so far and is going about 2910 fps. The barrel has gained about 70 fps from new and is settling in nicely. 2910 fps with the .697 BC will have less recoil and plenty of retained velocity to open the bullet out to 1200 yards so I'm happy.

I installed a 2" rail section on mine. It is set up with the sling stud hole lined up as the rear hole of the rail section.

How many grains of R26 did you use with the 147? 3100 fps is moving along nicely. I'm not all about speed either. But if I get a prc it's got to run much faster than my x47. Don't think it will produce the velocity of my Sherman. So it may be a nice fit for In between the Sherman and x47.

RL26 with 210M primer and 147
59 grains was 3110 FPS
57.5 grains was 3020 FPS

I will say the feel, fit and finish far exceeded any expectations that I had. It just feels good when I shoulder it, if that makes any sense. I was a little hesitant on the spiral fluted barrel but after seeing it first hand and molesting it a little bit, I think it just adds to the look of the rifle..I like it. Range report to follow

scottyboy,

How did you get it with the carbon fiber DBM?

Only the 6.5 PRC is shipping with it. I was told from Seekins that eventually all the calibers would be available with it..but that timeline is unknown as the resources for the carbon fiber mag are going towards the PRC at the moment.

I'm looking forward to your experience, I haven't seen much info for the 6.5 PRC, especially in a Havak. Keep us posted!
