375 wsm on that action, be nice to toss in a Wyatts extended mag box. I mean you have a 9.3, but I don't see a 375 in your list.
That's piqued my interest. How does that look on paper? compared to 338SS mag?375 wsm on that action, be nice to toss in a Wyatts extended mag box. I mean you have a 9.3, but I don't see a 375 in your list.
338 edgeI have a M700 stainless SPS in 300wsm that I put a Bell & Carlson stock on a few years back. It's got a Zeiss Conquest on it and has been a decent rifle. I brought it out with me a few times to hunt Muley's and it shoots ok. I never loaded up anything other then 165's and 180 Barnes and noslers for it. I guess I never really gave it much attention . Anyway, I'm thinking of either rebarreling and doing something different or selling. Thinking if I had something to fill a gap in my current line up would be nice. Here are my current rifle chamberings. Would love to hear opinions and thoughts.

Any ideas for a possible build to toss in the mix using the M700 short action?

By the way, Whidden is in S Georgia, and they do build excellent dies. Wilson is in Washington State.I have not loaded any Improved Brass as of yet, I have some 130 Black Diamonds I am breaking in the barrel with and my plan is to send in some fired brass and have a custom die build for the Improved. I did that with a 30-30 Improved and was very happy with the results. I have Redding Dies for my match rifle and I am very pleased with how they load for my match rifle. Wilson builds custom dies and I will thinking about giving them a try, they are located in Georgia and that will give an reason to drive three hours and check out their shop.
When you get time post a few photo's of your lasted builds.

I'm going out on a limb here, what about the 35 Whelen? I was at hunt camp last month and this came up, same topic, I suggested the Whalen and my buddy suggested the Nosler 28. Whelen is standard but not short action though.I'm not necessarily thinking .30 cal. I have never been a 30 fan. I have an AR10 in .308 and this 300wsm. I've always leaned .284 and .338 with no need for the 30 cal. I'm trying to break that train of thought though, hence this thread. I do feel I should have went 300WM instead of WSM now.

The 35 whelen and 338-06 are pretty close and each have their own following. I'm looking for short action on this.I'm going out on a limb here, what about the 35 Whelen? Thanks. The 338 build is still out a few months. Just trying to come up with a plan for this M700 shorty.Take a look at 338NM. I have had a 338 lapua and 338edge and like the 338Nm the best.
300wsm on short action
6.5 Gap, 6.5 SS or SST, I'm working on a 7mm SS right now but I see you already have a 7mm saum.I have a M700 stainless SPS in 300wsm that I put a Bell & Carlson stock on a few years back. I was hoping you would build one and I could follow. I have a winchester m70 in 300wsm and I have been thinking of what to swap it to. It should push a 300gr somewhere around 2500-2600fps. Which would be pretty much there with a 375h&hThat's piqued my interest. How does that look on paper? compared to 338SS mag?
