Reloader 23?

I've tried so many powders in several Creed barrels and h4350 seems to be the most accurate. Rl26 will go faster as will rl16 but for 1000 yard shooting my Creed's like h4350. Shoots one hole at 100 yards with 147eldm. And have shot 10 shots under 4 inches at 1000 yards. I've tried enduron as well as other imr powder. Hybrid v. Rl23. Superformance. H4831. If I ever run out of h4350 my next best is h4831. The only bullet I shoot is the 147 so other powders may work better with lighter bullets.

PM to you.

I've had great results with RL 23 as well. When I first started reloading 3 years ago, my 6.5x55 was the first cartridge I started with. After a lot of research I just knew I had to get RL 26 but of course I couldn't find any. I went to a local Sportsman's and they had an 8Lb'er of 23 for $129 for some reason so I decided to try it, and I'm glad I did. It worked exceptionally will with 130 HVLD's at 2950 with .6 Moa accuracy, as well as 135 Classic Hunters at 2870 consistently under an inch at 200. 24" Barrel. It worked so well I have yet to use anything else in that rifle.

My 6.5 prc isn't picky....reloader 26 has worked great with both cci 200 and fed 210 primers, I load 55.4g with the cci 200 and 54.7g with fed 210 and with the fed 210 I can use less powder and I have better accuracy and such but we ALL know how hard it is to find.

In my search to find a substitute I chose reloader 23 and I'm sure glad I did!! I have yet to take it to distance but it's looking promising! I just had the wife pick up 2 more lbs last Saturday and may pick up more if available and whatever else is at the local gun and reloading getting spot lol.

Custom rifle built off a SA Bighorn Origin with WTO switch barrel lug, 26" Krieger 4 groove 1-7" twist LT Palma barrel, Krg bravo, Athlon Cronus BTR, Nightforce rings,
147g Eldm's, had my first bullet blow up with the 147 and I'm about 200 rounds in on reloads and about 30rnds in on factory ammo.

In Ohio. I checked a few smaller shops and several places have it. I think all the big mail order places sell out first but the mom and pop shops still have it. Call around to your local shops you might be surprised. The place I found it doesn't sell online that's why they still had some left. Too bad they didn't have any h1000 that's what I was looking for.

I came home with a pound of H4831 today... I have had one heck of a time finding RL26 and H1000, and now H4350.
I'm taking the alternative route and starting recipes from scratch and hoping one of the available powders works as well.

I think h1000 is all being used up for the military contracts. It's what they use in the 300 win mag. I still have a few pounds of each but it's going to run out before this season ends. Hopefully they catch up on demand. H4350 was starting to show up more but last I checked it was all gone again too. But like I said call all the small shops around and see what they have.

Has anyone run the 23 through the magnum calibers? 7, 300, 338, etc.
I use it in my 300 WEA with 168 gr. Barnes TTSX's. I'm getting 3350 FPS with .5 to .7 MOA. This in a 24" barrel. I used to run REL-22 with nearly identical results. As I live and hunt in NW Montana, temperature stability is a concern that I no longer have to worry about when using 23.

So I'm trying to work up a load with RL-23 and/or RL 26 for my new 6.5 X 284. I tried 4831sc with not so impressive results. I'm planning to try 140g VLDs and 143g ELDXs. Any suggestions on where to start and what might be my max load/velocity?
When you get his worked out, give us all the information you can. I am a big fan of the 6-5x284 and would like some info on using R-23 and R-26 in it with 140 and 156 Berger's. Thanks in advance.

I'm loading 140 VLDs in my 6.5x284 with 56 grains of RL26 for 2975 fps with 24" bbl in Cooper Backcountry.....3 shot groups attached.

My local shop had 8#ers of H1000, varget, and rl26 last week. Going back tomorrow to grab the varget.
