Reloader 23?

23 will do great in your 243 also. I ran a 6slr with 105 Berger's at 3175fps for 1000 yd comp. That combo got me 2nd place 2 gun overall at my first world open match. 23 is very temp stable and gives really low sd/es. If you like rl22 you will like 23 better. I found rl26 gives more speed but 23 is always more accurate in my experience.

I found the same thing regarding accuracy/velocity. I've found this to be true in the 3 different rifles/calibers that I have tried it in.

I love RL23. I have no idea why it's not as popular as RL16 and RL26. I use it in my .284 with 175gr Berger's at 2850FPS from a 26" barrel. It was super easy to find a consistent load in it with RL23. I also used it in my .270 with 140gr bullets and got 2935FPS from a 22" barrel. I had no pressure in either cartridge and reached equal or higher velocity compared to other powders. It's one of my favorites.

Rel 23 has worked very well in one of the 25-06 rifles I load for using Norma brass, Fed 210M and Sierra
100 gr Pro Hunters. Although it isn't a fast load at just under 3200 fps I can't complain about the 0.379" 5 shot group it produced at 100 m. I have shot it out to 400 m and it is still sub 1/2 MOA.
Just recently I have been playing with Rel 23 in a Carl Gustaf 3000 rifle in 6.5x55 Swede and it is showing great promise. At this stage I have taken it up to 48.5 gr in RWS brass with Fed 210M primers and Sierra
130 gr Gamechanger. That load is at 2812 fps and is producing clover leaf groups with no signs of pressure. I am hopping that I can take that up to around 50 grs.

Your 6.5 sweede will easily do 2900 with a 130.

That is what I am thinking also Shep. To start with I couldn't find any load data for a modern 6.5x55 Swede with Rel 23 so I asked the forum members and some kind folk gave me a starting load and I have worked up from there. Unfortunately I ran out of time to continue the work up but to to be able to get back to it in the next month.

Hodgdon shows 2827 with a 129 with imr 4955 at only 45300 cup. Pushed at 50000 cup it should go pretty good.

I've had good results with IMR 4955 and 120 gr. Barnes TTSX bullets. I can achieve 3000+ with great accuracy in my CZ 550 American. Reloader 23 gets the nod with 140 gr. Nosler Partitions. 2800+ before seeing pressure signs.

So I'm trying to work up a load with RL-23 and/or RL 26 for my new 6.5 X 284. I tried 4831sc with not so impressive results. I'm planning to try 140g VLDs and 143g ELDXs. Any suggestions on where to start and what might be my max load/velocity?

Using RL23 in my 7 RM with 143 HH's. With 66.3 gr, its at 3220 fps and better accuracy in this particular rifle than with H1000. Will be working up a load for my 6.5/284 with it and 123 HH's in the next few weeks.

Also plan on switching over my 25-06 that I've been shooting RL22 in to RL23, as I've found RL22's temp sensitivity is a little sketchy for summertime shooting here in FL.
