RAMSHOT LRT POWDER

Would a guy be better off shooting 180 eldms with a powder like this or rl26? I'm using n570 now and probably wont see that for a long while. Anyway im 82g with n570 shooting 3226 into one hole.

What cartridge? Sounds like it may be difficult to beat what you have.

LRT was a thumbs down for my recently built 300 RUM. Retumbo and Reloader 33 with pretty much any load (accubond, ELDX, and Bergers VLDS) at any seating depth and pretty much all charge weights worked well to excellent with SD being from 4 up to 14. With the LRT, it was 29-42 SD with all the same loads and very sporadic accuracy. Definitely strange, and over my head, but it was a huge no go for me.

We did some load work yesterday with a 375 AM and our 411g Hammer Hunter. We did the first work up with rl33. We reached pressure at 3150 fps and backed down to 3100 fps for a top end load. We decided to them try the Ramshot LRT to see how it would do. We were not able to get to pressure or 3100 fps. It topped out at 3070 fps without pressure and would not gain anymore vel indicating that we ran out of barrel. This was our first try with the LRT but does in this particular cartridge it is definitely slower than rl33.

By the way this big boomer printed a sub .5" 3 shot group at 200y with the rl33. For those who haven't done it, lighting 145g of powder under a 411g bullet launching at 3100 fps is really pretty fun!

I can't remember the length. I'll check. I think it is 34". It is 8" twist. Rifle weighs in at 22 lbs scoped. Message_1547413065273.jpg Message_1547422023731.jpg
