So..... IMHO the only camo that is truly effective is a ghillie suit. I do wear camo for predators but for most big game I bow hunt in a variety of first lite gear. For elk hunting with my recurve I wind up wearing earth tone's in solids often and don't worry about it. Scent and movement are the biggest issues with bow hunting, particularly with recurves. I do think camo patterns do in fact help break up outlines and movement can be semi hidden or blend in a bit better with the foliage. I just know from my own personal experience over several decades using a ghillie that is by far the most effective.

Mossy oak shadow grass for quackers, Natgear for everything else. I do have misc. other brands/patterns so my person best is 7 different patterns at one time on one of those well below zero panhandle goose hunting days where you put on everything you have!

My hunt club has 34 enclosed box blinds on pine plantation roads. Last year was my first season "hunting"/waiting to shoot something in this way, seeing one of the guys in full Kuiu to sit in a swivel office chair was one of the more entertaining things I witnessed.

My normal camo is a combination of things that were on sale but I also go back to plain old oldschool woodland. I have bought some fancier pants and shirts from the companies like Kuiu, first lite, Sitka but as others have said I tend to buy solid's anymore. Can't justify $100 pants to be worn 10 times or less a year.

Some valid points. I do hunt a lot, 6 months at least. I hike a lot too. So I do tend to lean toward the performance clothing in colors I will wear around tree huggers. I have a pile of first lite clothing and so does my better half and most of it is light weight performance clothing for hiking.
