With recent threads on 30/30, I am now on a mission to tag a deer this year with my Dad's Winchester 30/30 serial number built in 1954. I think he would look down and smile. Loaded 170 flat nose and good to go!
So let's see those lever action kills whether 30/30, .35 Rem, 32 Spl.
If you are wearing buffalo plaid so much the better!

Is the Brockman a customized Marlin 1895 ?Here is my latest kill with my Brockman 45/70. I have also taken hogs, elk, and black bear. The bullet is a hard cast 540gr Hammerhead from Garret. It broke both shoulders, took out the lungs and the top of the heart. Found it just under the skin on the off side.
Yes, the Marlin I hunt with was modified by Jim Brockman. The barrel was ported by Marlin before I got it. The barrel is 18". Velocity was 1500fps +-. It put him on his nose with the first shot. The second shot running was through the lungs. He piled up about 40 yards later. Is the Brockman a customized Marlin 1895 ?
What velocity does the 540gr Hammerhead shoot from your rifle ?
What is your barrel length ?
Did I notice that your barrel looks to be ported ? If so , was that part of the Brockman Rifle build ?
And CONGRATULATIONS !!!
That is IMPRESSIVE .

I told you how to do that already...I was told I had Alzhimer's once....but I forgot what it was!I lost my "Elmer Fudd" hat, so I can't use a 30-30. But I do intend to get a deer this year with my Savage 99 in .308 win. I will try to figure out how to post pictures, if I can just remember to take the pictures.
