I have killed so many animals with mine, I used to use 30/06, 300 win, 7 RM, 338 Lapua but those rounds are for people that can't shoot. With this creedmoor I have never shot an animal more than once or had to track it. Killed this ol girl last Dec at about 1760 steps with 143 eldx, clean pass thru both shoulders. Thanks to the creed another one bites the dust!!!

if all you ever hunt is inside of 400 yards, then why even worry about drop?
That has been my whole point for over half a dozen posts. My point was that all the hype around the 270, 243 and 7mm being high velocity and flat was just hype. Because at the time the 7mm REM Mag came out high tech in scopes was mostly a clean cross hair in a 3-9 scope. Fancy was 4-12 power scope with a duplex reticle. No one had range finders. So for all that "flat high shooting high velocity" HYPE you were still in the same boat as the old 30-06.

.. I'm seriously not understanding how this has become a full-blown argument,

You and me both, brother...

I use mpbr for my hunting rifles, but I rarely get shots way out there. No it's not the best method, but not everyone owns optics that so easily and quickly dial up. And keep in mind, maximum point blank range is how most hunters have operated within the last century. Isn't that what primarily drove the development of cartridges like the 7RM? Higher velocity as a means of extending maximum range.

Just set your scope 2.5" high at 100 and it becomes a point & click interface... I'm seriously not understanding
Seriously Mud have you bothered to read what I posted. I mean this from a good place, how old are you and do you get confused easily these days? I ask because my younger brother just got diagnosed with pretty significant dementia at age 60. For the last 2-3 years he got easily confused and we wondered what was up. My advise is make sure your POA and MPOA as well as your other financial affairs are in oder because soon it will be out of your hands. SERIOUSLY !!!!!

6.5 CM is just a great round, very accurate, flat shooting, good BC bullets. Nothing magical but a solid nice shooting caliber. Got this 10pt from camp shooting across a draw at 577yds. This Pronghorn at 367yd. Both with 142gr ABLR HL 2855 fps w RL26 I would not hesitate to shoot any North American deer species with it to 700yds under good LR conditions. I've seen video of this very bullet tested with wet deer hide and hog ribcage and 20% BG at 600yds starting at 2705 fps penetrated to 23" mushroomed nice they didn't measure the width but did weigh it at 136 gr. I've got 150fps more velocity. The only thing that is magic is RL26 it gets more velocity w/o pressure signs someway somehow.

Oh snap it's getting real now!
Hey let's keep it in context. I had been trying to say, for a ton of posts (basically highjacking the thread) what he finally coped to. I SERIOUSLY wonder if he should get his affairs in order while he can. BTW you don't have to be that old to get dementia, I can sadly say because of what my younger brother is facing.

Nice pics. U know I have messed with about every factory gun and I have to say the bergara hmr is prolly one of the best values out there, followed up very closely to the 5r 700 gen IIs. The stock I think is what set it apart for me.

Things are getting s but off base here....can we get back to hating on the creed?
