New to me 6.5 Creedmoor

If you're after deer,120, 123 grain bullets around 2900 fps will strike like lightning bolt. Low recoil for younger people if you have any. But very pleasant to shoot. My load is 123 SST on top of 43.8 STaBall laupa brass federal large rifle primer. 2875 fps. Very accurate.

6.5 Creed is just a gateway drug to 6.5 PRC anyway, unless you are a woman or kid.
Yeah I was thinking about finding a 6.5 PRC, but didn't find anything I liked. This is a pretty nice rifle in what seems to be a pretty decent cartridge. I don't think I have much need for a PRC, I have other guns that'll outrun it. Doesn't mean I don't want one though. I figured this would be a nice rifle to be able to lend out or take for some of the smaller big game.

I have an M48 .260. They come with PacNor barrels.

Mine will shoot the Nosler factory loaded 130AB's sub MOA. Loaded with R16 and 130AB, they are bad medicine WT.

Thank you all for your help. I just picked up a box of the 140gr ELD-Ms. Bought a box of the 124gr Hammers yesterday and found some 130gr Berger OTMs at the house. Also bought some N555, Superformance, IMR4955, and some N560, I'll probably try the 4955 and 560 in a WSM of some sort. Might see what some books say about it for the Creed. I think I'll be busy for a while, I might move a scope so I can shoot it tomorrow.

The 130 Berger hunting has performed very well out of my RBros 6.5x47 as well. Get right at 3000 FPS out of that one. I think the 130 OTM should perform. If strictly hunting I'd go with the hammers. Or make a Berger load to practice with at distance.

3.141 base to ogive may be a misprint? 6.5 cm case length is 1.920" and 140 eldm bullet length is 1.374". That adds up to 3.294" which only leaves .153" for seating if you are talking OAL. I don't think that would even get you past the boat tail. I don't think it would even touch the top of the case if measured to ogive. ???
Good catch, you are correct. I used the measurement I get when I put the loaded round into the "Sinclair Hex style bullet (seating) comparator". So not the true base to ogive measurement, 3.141 it is the reference measurement I get when using the Hex comparator. I edited my post to give an accurate description of the B-O seating.

You target shooting or hunting?
Expected ranges?
If hunting, what?

Without this info, there is no way to answer your question.
Good question... If I counted right, there were 9 people that told him what to shoot before someone (you) asked what he was shooting at...

120 at 2900.. sounds a bit like a 25-06 or 270...
