New to 6.5 Creedmoor loading

I have had good luck with H4350 and IMR4451 both behind a 140gr berger vld with fed 210 primers I believe that the 4451 is a little less temp sensitive. Temp variation in Texas is huge, so this is important. With either powder I lower the charge when it gets over 90 degrees

Yep I live in TX, so I understand the swings in Temps..

I just purchased my first Short action bolt rifle, I have a Bergara B14 HMR in 6.5 Creedmoor. All of my reloading has been with 28 Nosler and 7 Rem Mag, so I am behind on what powders are best for the 6.5 Creed. I did check my powder stock and see I have some IMR 4350 and H4831 some I must have purchased years ago, but that is all when it comes to faster burning powder. I have read that H4350 seems to be everyone go to powder for this cartridge, but wanted to see if another powder, something that is always readily available, that works great for this cartridge? I was looking to reload using 135gr Berger Classic and go up to 147gr as the largest size. I would appreciate if anyone could provide there loads that work great in this cartridge. I wish Berger and Hornady would do what Nosler and Hodgdon does and post reloading data on the different bullets they have.

I would use the powders you have, since it sounds like they've been sitting there collecting dust anyway. When they're gone, you can try other powders - and you'll have the rifle broken in & hallway figured out. Both of the powders you mentioned are of an appropriate burn rate for this cartridge, and since you don't yet know what it likes you may as well try these two.

I have that rifle with 24 inch barrel. Use IMR 4350 but it doesn't seem to be as temperature stable as H4350. This from WY, and it is cold here, and at 750 I'm about 1 1/2 MOA different that when it is warm. You will love it - it is a tack driver

H4350 and RL16 are the 2 main powders for the Creed. If you really want horsepower, then get RL26. I'm getting 2952fps with the 143 gr ELDX in my Creed. That's only 59 fps below my 6.5-284 Norma load with the 143 and Retumbo.
Where are you getting your load data for RL26 in the 6.5 Creed? I checked Alliant webpage and do not see one using this powder.

So, how do you like the Bergara? Is it MOA or less at 100yds as they claim?
I've had my B14 HRM 6.5 CM for two years. It's a great rifle, and Bergara's customer service is second to none. They're right up there with K&M, Redding, Ruger, Hornady and a few other top tier companies.

This is what I've found: H4350 and Reloader 16 are both excellent powder choices, and perform equally well. It's the same situation with Hornady ELD-M 140's, and Sierra 142's. They're equal in performance. Any combination of these components producesfairly consistent .4MOA's out to 500 yards, and slightly sub one MOA's out to 1000 yards. My rifle has never done well with the 147 grain bullets. Probably need a faster twist rate than the 1:8 in my gun. The
The low 40 grain range is where I found my node.

I am also working with Superform right now in the Creed. It is actually my go-to in the .260 with 130gr bullets and lighter and it looks like it will be the same to 140s at least in the Creed. I don't shoot a lot in the summer, but it seems pretty consistent temp wise from 60 degrees to 0. It has been 1/2 to 3/4 MOA with 2 x 260s and my Creed with 130 accubonds, 130 Bergers, and 125 Partions.

One of my wives friends received this same rifle for xmas I bedded the action and swapped trigger to a jewell break in on this barrel was quite time consuming when it finally started shooting the only thing we could get it to shoot was 120-130 grain bullets with H-4895 which was fine for her no recoil and a long shot for her is 200-250 but the gun will shoot them in to .5 moa over all I think this is a neat rifle for the money Her husband went a little cheap on glass A few hundred dollars more would make a big difference

FWIW. Loaded Nosler 140gr RDF's with Winchester 6.5 StaBall last week. Most accurate powder with 140's yet. It is my go-to powder now. Really impressed with this powder.

Varget with bullet weights up to and including 130gr, H4350 burn rate area for bullets from 120 - 150gr and R26 for bullets 135gr and heavier.

If forced to narrow it down, I would focus on Varget, H4350, R16 and R26. If forced to pick one, I'd flip a coin between H4350 and R16.
