:)

The 3.300.00. Euro price may be a drawback. That's about $3700.00 in American green backs. I can buy a really good custom gun for that. Unless its 330.00 euros. 😁
a link to the Strasser USA website is here: https://strasser-usa.com/projects/rs700/

The complete rifle the USA side has listed is $3,599.99 but the stock is difference from the stocks that the Austrian Strasser website shows. I called the USA side to see if they can also order the complete rifles that are listed on the Strasser Austria website and they confirmed that they could. The rifle you are referencing that is 3.330.. Euros is offered for $3,225.99 MSRP thru the USA side.

Anyone heard anything about this Strasser straight pull? Thoughts? Ive been seriously considering it. Looks like they got a "builders" action that is straight-pull with Remington 700 footprint and compatibility. Could make for a cool custom gun
Yeah, I purchased one at the end of the spring and have been thrilled with it. The action is the smoothest I have ever used. This is my 6.5PRC rifle that has the Strasser RS700 straight pull action. (see image)

@huntergirl - What questions can I answer for you? Our Strasser RS700 straight pull action is the only Remington 700 footprint straight pull ever made. Any Remington 700 footprint stock, chassis, or trigger system will work with the RS700 action. Our locking lug system feature four independent locking lugs that work as a collective group. Each of the four locking lugs has been 3rd party tested (German Proof House) to the maximum pressures the proof house was capable of, 84K PSI. The proof houses do not have the capability of testing beyond 84k PSI. The combine pressure that the collective locking lugs can withstand 336k psi... thats a lot. We are not aware of a safer straight pull system on the market.

That rose wood model is offered thru the strasser usa for $3,225 MSRP. That cheaper than the strasser austria website has it listed for. I own one of the Strasser Alpine Hunter rifles that is listed on the USA's website. I could not be happier with the rifle.
That is correct. The USA side offers everything that is available on the Austrian website and we also have a few models that they do not offer in Europe. For more information and/or specific questions, the fastest reply will come if you reach out to us directly at [email protected]

below are a few builds that have been built using the RS700 action and/or barreled actions.

I will eventually buy an action although the $1745 is slightly over the top of what I'm willing to pay currently for actions. There is significant hesitation right now to buy or build based on costs. I'm certain that it may come down to a client wanting to order one first.;)

The RS700 version makes it a lot easier to build on with the wide variety and selection of stocks/triggers available.

:)

but would your custom gun be a straight-pull haha. Hey did you see they have builders actions? $1,745 MSRP but then I can go find a pre-fit barrel and stock of my choice... that may be the route worth persuing.

Yes it's expensive for a factory rifle but...

One of the points to consider (if it's important to you) is the factor of it being a straight pull action. The other being a wood stock featuring a 'rosewood' finish. In fine rifles available here in the U.S., we are basically limited to the Savage Impulse. The one I was able to use for an extended period of time didn't impress me.

Here are 3 others but not available here:

https://rifle-shooter.com/article/s...epth-analysis-of-three-popular-straight-pulls

Here is a pretty good list of most of the models available since the late 1800s (yes late 1800s):

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_straight-pull_rifles

I have a couple of the real oldies which I still have occasion to hunt with. Smooth operating and can be very accurate within reason, not benchrest but hunting. The K-31 Swiss regained an immense popularity a few years ago, driving up the prices and deleting most of the availability world-wide. Harder to find currently and extravagantly overpriced on occasion. I'm seeing $500 - to well over $1,000 offered by the sincerely greedy.

One of the newer versions of the straight pull though is the Beretta BRX-1. I might find this interesting enough to try it out. $1500 - $1600 approximately. Until then my oldies but goodies work just fine!

ADDED:

The Strasser 'builder action' is listed as being $1745 USD.

:)
I need to do more research on the beretta but right off the bat I am not a fan of how the bolt slides back... it looks as if it's not connected (meaning the top picatinny rail just hovers above it).

Happy Thanksgiving!

Better late than never!

Barrels: Our action takes all 700 barrels with barrel nut or with shoulder. Since we use a so called "fat bolt" design there is a small rework to be done to accommodate our bolt which is slightly bigger in diameter.
